Chapter 957 We've Married You for So Long, Brady, Without Giving You a Proper Wedding
After chatting with Emily, Violet got into her car and headed home. Brady had to return to the office, so they went their separate ways for now.
When Violet arrived home, she got out of the car and confirmed the time to meet Emily the next day before quickly heading inside.
As soon as she walked through the door, Henry and Nicole, who were playing on the floor, heard the noise and turned to see their mom. They immediately dropped their toys and ran excitedly into Violet's arms.
"Mom, we missed you!" They joyfully threw themselves into Violet's embrace, clinging to her as if they never wanted to let go.
They had missed their mom and dad so much over the past few days.
However, Hellen had told them that their parents had important things to attend to, so they had to wait for them to return.
"Mom missed you, too," Violet said, hugging them tightly, her eyes inexplicably welling up with tears.
So much had happened in the past few days that she had almost thought she wouldn't see them again.
And the baby.
Thankfully, everything turned out okay.
"Violet, you're finally back," Hellen said, emerging from the kitchen. She had heard the commotion and dropped what she was doing to come out. Seeing that it was indeed Violet, her eyes instantly welled up with tears.
She had been waiting for them to return, trying to contact them every day, but the calls never went through.
She had been worried sick.
"We're back," Violet said, pulling Henry and Nicole closer as she looked at Hellen. "By the way, how's the baby?"
"She's been good, still at your mother-in-law's," Hellen said, turning away to wipe her eyes.
"Okay, I'll go pick her up tomorrow."
"Have you eaten? Are you hungry?" Hellen asked, wiping away her emotional tears and turning back with a smile.
"I'm not hungry right now. I ate on the plane," Violet replied. Brady's private jet had a chef on board, and the meals were restaurant-quality.
"Alright, I'll make you some soup," Hellen said, heading back to the kitchen. Suddenly, she turned around and asked, "Violet, why couldn't we reach you these past few days? Your phone was always busy. I was so worried."
"It's nothing. The signal on the island was terrible. But look, Brady and I are back safe and sound," Violet said, hugging Hellen to reassure her.
She didn't dare tell her what had really happened over the past few days.
She didn't want to scare her.
"As long as you're okay," Hellen said, patting her shoulder. "I'll go make that soup."
"Okay," Violet nodded, then took Henry and Nicole to the living room to play with them.
After a while, her mother-in-law, Ava, called.
They knew she and Brady had returned to the country.
Violet answered the phone, and Ava's gentle voice came through, "Violet, did you get home safely?"
"Yes, we did."
Ava, holding the baby, continued with a smile, "I'm glad you're back. If you hadn't come back, the baby wouldn't have had any milk."
"I was about to go buy some formula."
"Sorry, Mom, we lost track of time," Violet said, feeling a bit embarrassed and clearing her throat.
Of course, she didn't dare mention what had happened on the island.
"It's okay, we were just saying," Ava said, genuinely pleased with Violet and fully accepting her into the family. Her words were always kind and loving.
"Alright."
"By the way, Brady said you two are planning a wedding?" Ava had been eagerly waiting for them to have a proper wedding.
She wanted to give Violet a big gift.
Violet nodded and said honestly, "Yes, he said we've been married for so long without a proper wedding, so we're going to have one this time."
"You definitely should. Brady married you so long ago and hasn't given you a proper wedding. If you need anything, just let me know. I'll support you all the way!"
Violet felt touched and said, "Thank you, Mom."
"We're family. Come pick up the baby tomorrow," Ava said, worried the baby wouldn't have enough milk.
"Okay."
