Chapter 200 I Thought You'd Stubbornly Reject Me?
Upon departing from Max's office, Violet made a beeline for her own workspace.
Her journey through the corridor was fraught with tension, the palpable resentment and irritation of her fellow designers piercing her like invisible arrows.
Violet was acutely aware that she would likely bear the brunt of the blame for the current predicament. It was a situation that impacted not only her but the entire design team at JK.
She steeled herself for the impending criticism, ready to shoulder the responsibility. Yet, she was unwavering in her resolve to unearth the truth. She refused to let her design career crumble under the weight of this crisis.
Once ensconced at her desk, Violet found herself mired in a morass of heavy thoughts.
She was uncertain if Mr. Green could untangle the knotted mess they found themselves in. The drafts that usually commanded her attention now lay forgotten, her focus hopelessly lost in the turmoil. Instead, she brooded, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts as she desperately sought a solution.
After enduring half an hour of this internal struggle,
A sudden exclamation from one of the female designers punctuated the office's tense silence. "Wow, you guys have to see this online. Brady has taken action!"
"What?" The mere mention of 'Brady' ignited a spark of interest, akin to the invocation of a deity. Curiosity piqued, everyone rose from their seats.
"Look it up online!" the designer urged, her excitement palpable. "Brady's incredible. He's managed to erase all the trending searches and posts from last night."
"Does that mean all those defamatory posts about JK are gone?" someone else queried.
"Yes!" the designer confirmed, her admiration for Brady evident. "Not only did he erase all the negative posts about JK and the Hall family, but he also issued a cease and desist notice through the Hall family company's official Twitter!"
"A cease and desist notice?"
"Just look it up yourselves."
Following this exchange, a flurry of online searches ensued.
Violet bit her lip lightly, her decision made in an instant. She picked up her phone to check the Hall family's official Facebook page.
Upon opening Facebook, the first thing she saw was a pinned notice from the Hall family. They were pursuing legal action against the marketing accounts that had leaked information about a JK female designer and the Loraine order!
'Brady must have utilized the Hall family's formidable legal team to draft this cease and desist order,' Violet surmised.
'The notice explicitly stated that the JK designer had been slandered.'
The Hall family and JK would retain their right to pursue legal action against those who propagated the rumors.
With this development, as long as Violet could procure the evidence, neither she nor JK would face any repercussions.
Just as she had anticipated, Brady's intervention had simplified matters considerably.
Now, industry peers and clients wouldn't question JK's reputation because the truth about the slander and rumors was out. Violet felt a wave of relief wash over her.
"Now all I need is the evidence. But how do I find it?"
She rubbed her temples, a designer's stylus wavering over sketch paper in her hands, when her phone vibrated abruptly.
It was a text from Brady: [Lunch together to discuss what exactly happened?]
Violet hesitated as she read his message. She knew that failing to resolve the issue could indeed impact the Hall family. She decided to agree: [Sure, Brady.]
After she replied, Brady promptly sent another message: [I thought you'd stubbornly refuse.]
"She's not agreeing to lunch for personal reasons! It's strictly business."
She merely intended to report the situation to him. After all, he was not only the CEO of the Hall family but also a significant figure behind JK.
Violet texted: [Brady, this is my fault, and I'll explain it to you.]
Upon seeing her reply, Brady's thin lips twitched slightly. This was not a matter that could be simply brushed aside.
Setting down his phone, Brady's gaze lingered on the view beyond the floor-to-ceiling window.
A little while later, he picked up his phone again and dialed Loraine, inviting her to join them for lunch.
