Chapter 972 Considering That You Are Pursuing Me, I Just Don't Want You to Be Too Hasty in Finding a Man
That was such a strategic ask.
Emily didn't notice, but Violet and Lucien sure did.
No wonder her husband said he wasn't as honest as he seemed!
It was the first time he accepted a gift from Emily, and he didn't even politely refuse. Not only did he straightforwardly accept it, but he also deliberately showed off in front of Lucien?
She remembered that Emily had just agreed to give it a try with him last night.
Was this progressing like a rocket?
Violet was pondering this while Emily carefully took out the watch box from the bag, unwrapped it, and put it on Austin's wrist. "Mr. Roberts, do you like this color?"
"I like it. As long as it's from you, I like it." Austin looked down at the luxury watch on his wrist.
The smile on his lips deepened.
"As long as you like it. Please take care of my dad's matter. I'll head to class now." Emily placed the bag on his desk, grabbed her purse, and left with Violet.
In the hallway outside the office, Violet wanted to remind her again, but she thought, do I have any evidence to say Austin is a scheming man?
Besides, he was going to help Emily's dad get in touch with a renowned doctor in America.
Violet swallowed her words.
She decided to wait and see.
The two walked to the classroom. Violet originally planned to attend class with her, but her clingy husband Brady called. He had canceled his morning work and drove to Lucien's university to take her to see the wedding venue.
The wedding scene had been roughly finalized with the designer.
Now he wanted Violet to come and take a look.
Violet had to say goodbye to Emily and head to Brady.
Emily stayed in the classroom alone, waiting for Austin to come to class.
Their graduate class consisted of approximately 20 students. When everyone had arrived, Austin came in with his textbook.
The class lasted 45 minutes.
After class, Austin had other classes and couldn't stay with Emily.
Emily stayed in the classroom to review the notes she had missed. After finishing, she planned to return to the company.
But as she flipped through her classmates' notes, she felt a headache coming on.
Why did someone with poor grades like her come back to take classes after graduating from college?
It was annoying.
However, considering her dad's wishes, Emily couldn't bear to go against him, so she decided to stick it out until she graduated.
Emily kept her head down, diligently copying her classmate's notes.
Soon, the classmates who were only there for the exam left, and the classroom was empty except for her, still writing away.
Until footsteps approached from outside the classroom, getting closer.
She looked up instinctively and saw Lucien standing in front of her, one hand in his pocket, his handsome face looking refined yet slightly aloof.
Emily frowned, wondering what he meant by suddenly appearing in front of her.
Just as she was about to ignore Lucien and continue copying notes, Lucien spoke first, his voice cool and calm, matching his demeanor. "Why are you dating him?"
He was naturally referring to Austin.
Emily raised an eyebrow, her expression not pleasant. "What's the matter, Professor Moreau? Is there a problem?"
"Are you serious?" Lucien ignored her displeasure and continued, "He's not right for you."
"Whether he's right or not is none of your business, Professor Moreau. By the way, Austin and I are engaged. Remember to come to the wedding, Professor Moreau." Emily said coldly.
She didn't care that Lucien's face darkened.
"Emily, don't be stubborn." Lucien suppressed the anger her coldness sparked. "I'm saying this for your own good."
Emily was taken aback, frowning as she looked at Lucien strangely.
Lucien, noticing her gaze, realized he might have overstepped and added, "Considering you pursued me, I just don't want you to choose a man too hastily."
Emily scoffed.
'Pursued him?'
'See, this is the flaw in men. He might not like you, but deep down, he believes that if you pursue him, you must belong to him.'
You couldn't like another man.
"You think too highly of yourself. Even if I randomly marry someone, I won't pursue you again." Emily was so annoyed by his words that she lost the mood to stay!
Was he here just to irritate her? Not liking him wasn't enough? He had to discuss who she dated?
As if she were his woman.
But he never liked her.
Emily quickly packed her things, glared at him, and left in a huff.
Lucien stood in the classroom, watching Emily's retreating figure, feeling a slight annoyance.
Meanwhile, at the school gate.
Violet walked briskly out of the gate, immediately spotting Brady's black Bentley parked there.
She smiled softly and walked over.
The driver, standing by the car door, opened it for her as she approached.
Violet bent down to get in, and Brady immediately pulled her into his arms, kissing her forehead. "How was it with Emily today?"
"Not bad, but that Austin is a bit off." Violet thought of how Austin deliberately showed off his affection with Emily.
She didn't like it.
"What's wrong with him?" Brady asked while instructing the driver to start the car.
"It's just a feeling." But she couldn't provide any evidence.
"Let's not talk about him. Let's go see our wedding venue." Brady already knew a bit about Austin's past in another state.
But the timing wasn't right, and he didn't want to say anything yet.
He didn't want to ruin Violet and Emily's friendship.
