Chapter 224 The Handsome Man's Gaze Was Possessive
Loraine's press conference was held in the conference room of a luxurious hotel in New York, starting at around 10 am. Violet and Max arrived at the door of the conference room at 9:30 am.
Loraine hadn't arrived at the venue, but her assistant had arrived. Seeing Violet and Max, she walked over and said, "Are you Violet from JK?"
"Hello, I am," Violet replied, looking at her.
The assistant smiled kindly and said, "Loraine asked me to look out for you. If you're here, please come with us to the makeup room over there." The assistant led Violet to a nearby makeup room as she spoke.
Max didn't want to follow the girls to the highly private makeup room, so he stayed near the conference room to check the scene.
There were few people in the makeup room. After the assistant brought Violet in, she said, "Violet, please have a seat. Loraine will be here in about 10 minutes."
"Okay, thank you." Violet nodded.
"You're welcome," the assistant said, looking at Violet and thinking she was quite beautiful. Her temperament and features were on par with those of a celebrity.
"By the way, is there anything I should pay attention to at the press conference later?" Violet looked around the makeup room and asked.
"Yes, there is." When she remembered that she needed to give Violet a script, the assistant felt embarrassed. She scratched her head apologetically and said, "I'm sorry. I completely forgot about that."
"You should read this first and familiarize yourself with it. When it's your turn to speak, read it word for word," the assistant said, handing Violet a letter-sized sheet of paper. "Your speech won't be very long, so it's best if you memorize it. If you don't look at these notes occasionally during your speech, the journalists might think you're insincere."
"Okay, I understand," said Violet, taking the paper and starting to read it.
Indeed, it wasn't much, just five lines of text.
She just needed to read it a few times to memorize it.
Violet sat on the side, holding the paper and reading, while the assistant went to see Loraine.
After 10 minutes, Loraine arrived and greeted Violet before starting to slap some makeup.
Violet was not a celebrity, so she didn't need any fancy styling. She just waited on the side.
After about 20 minutes, Loraine's styling was finished.
They went to the press conference together. Many journalists had already gathered at the venue. It was the first time Violet had seen such a grand event.
Naturally, she couldn't help feeling nervous.
Luckily, Loraine comforted her with a few words, saying that this press conference was about her and the whistleblower exposing the truth, so there was no need to be nervous as the victim.
Violet gradually calmed down and sat with Loraine in the front chairs, waiting for the press conference to begin officially.
The whistleblower finally walked in.
Her eyes were red, indicating that she had cried before coming.
Without even sitting down, she stood beside Loraine and Violet and made a deep bow, apologizing to them in front of hundreds of reporters. "Loraine, Violet of JK, I'm sorry. Because of my greed, I not only exposed Loraine's engagement but also her wedding dress. In addition, I wrongly blamed Violet, causing irreparable damage to both of them. I sincerely apologize to both of you, and I am willing to accept any punishment.
"I also want to apologize to JK and the Hall family sincerely. I hope that all colleagues in the industry will not discriminate against JK's designers in the future. They are all excellent designers who prioritize their customers. Everything was my fault."
After finishing her apology, she bowed three times before sitting on Loraine's left side. It then entered the formal part of the press conference.
In fact, just the apology itself had already shocked the reporters below.
They had thought that today's press conference would be about how Loraine would explain her engagement.
They didn't expect a reversal of events.
It wasn't someone from the Hall family or JK causing trouble, but rather someone intentionally manipulating things.
The reporters immediately became excited, raising their cameras to capture photos of the three of them.
They didn't expect the previous whistleblower, "JKViolet," to be as beautiful as Loraine.
The focus of everyone instantly shifted again. The journalists began to photograph Violet from every angle.
This frenzy of snapping made the handsome man who had deliberately come to watch and stood in the far corner of the press conference fix his eyes slightly possessively.
