Chapter 490 Don't Tell Me That Calliope Was Pregnant
"Mom, what are you doing here?" Brady walked steadily to Calliope's side, sitting down next to her in a seemingly affectionate manner.
Brady was the kind of man who carried an aura with him wherever he went.
Calliope felt relieved when he sat down. She really didn't know how to handle Ava. Thankfully, Brady had arrived.
Ava, looked at Brady with a half-smile and said, "Of course, I'm here to see Calliope."
"Is that so?" Brady also smiled, signaling the start of their competition.
In reality, Brady and Ava didn't get along well. It wasn't that they weren't related by blood; it was just that Ava had been a popular star in the entertainment industry. She met Brady's father, Grayson, and they fell in love at first sight. Ava quickly married him.
Ava gave birth to Brady the following year.
However, when Brady was two years old, she resumed her acting career. For the next few years, Brady was raised by the Hall Family while Grayson was busy with his career. They each focused on their own pursuits.
Naturally, she wasn't very close to Brady, so even when she had more time later on, she couldn't make up for it.
"Or did you think I came here to bully Calliope?" Ava feigned a smile and looked at Calliope, making her tense up involuntarily.
"No, I was just joking. I assume you wouldn't oppose my relationship with Calliope, right?" Brady continued.
Ava, of course, wouldn't openly oppose Brady. She was best at working behind the scenes, so she continued, "I don't oppose it. I came to see Calliope today because I was surprised by your public relationship announcement and wanted to talk to her."
"Isn't that right, Calliope?" Ava turned the conversation towards Calliope.
Calliope, felt really uncomfortable. But for Brady's sake, she wouldn't let him in a difficult position, so she nodded.
"Since Mom doesn't oppose our relationship, I have something to tell you both today," Brady said with a smile.
"What is it? Don't tell me Calliope is pregnant?" Ava said.
If she were pregnant, Ava wouldn't allow the child to be born.
"No, I'm not pregnant." Calliope, blushed and hurriedly explained it.
Brady knew that although Calliope was very capable, she was also very innocent. He gently pressed her hand, signaling her not to say more and that he would handle it.
Feeling his signal, Calliope quickly stopped talking.
"What I want to say is that I plan to get engaged to Calliope," Brady said slowly.
Upon hearing this, both Calliope and Ava widened their eyes in shock.
Engagement? This was no joke.
Ava couldn't even tolerate their relationship, let alone an engagement.
Ava angrily blurted out, "No, I don't agree. Your relationship with Calliope can't go this far!"
Brady remained calm and composed. After all, his marriage, including his future with Violet, was his own decision. "Mom, this is my own business. I won't give up just because of you."
