Chapter 1012 He Wants to Get Emily Pregnant, So They Can Get Married Smoothly

Aria didn't stick around the Hall Mansion for long. Brady, noticing Violet's irritation, exchanged a few polite words with her but didn't push her to stay. Violet let it slide, thanks to Brady's explanation.

After all, the wedding was just around the corner.

She didn't want any drama messing up her big day.

Meanwhile, Emily had just gotten back from America. Following Lucien's advice, she kept her engagement plans under wraps, even though she was set on getting engaged to Austin.

Emily hadn't even told Violet yet.

She planned to pick the right moment to announce the engagement.

Austin knew Emily was thinking about getting engaged.

He was on cloud nine.

Everywhere he went, he was beaming with pride, not caring a bit about the gossip that he was living off a rich girlfriend.

As long as he had money, he didn't care about the jealous whispers.

Friday rolled around, the day before Violet's wedding.

Lucien's university was hosting a faculty mixer, organized by Roy. He wanted to help the single teachers mingle and also invited those who were married or had partners.

It was a chance for everyone to socialize and get to know each other better.

Emily, as Austin's girlfriend, naturally went with him.

That evening, Emily wore a stunning black dress adorned with sparkling gems, and she walked into the mixer arm-in-arm with Austin.

As soon as they walked in, all eyes were on Emily.

This was probably the first time Austin had brought Emily to such an event.

Everyone knew she was his wealthy, high-society girlfriend.

And she was indeed beautiful and charming.

Not to mention, incredibly wealthy.

People cast envious glances their way.

Austin soaked up the jealous yet admiring looks from everyone, and his expression grew even more smug.

"Mr. Roberts, your girlfriend is stunning! You two make a great pair," a male teacher said, raising his glass for a toast.

Austin lifted his chin, adopting a superior air, and said, "Emily's always been beautiful."

"Absolutely, that's why you two are perfect together," another male teacher chimed in, flattering him.

"Thanks," Austin replied, feeling quite pleased with the compliments, his smile growing more self-satisfied.

Emily, though smiling warmly on the surface, found the mixer incredibly dull and uninteresting.

She especially disliked Austin's colleagues' sycophantic behavior.

Once the crowd dispersed, Emily turned to Austin, "Hey, I'm kinda thirsty. I'm gonna grab a drink."

"I'll come with you," Austin said, eager to flaunt their relationship, especially since Lucien was around. He needed to keep a close eye on Emily, ensuring Lucien didn't try anything.

"Alright," Emily agreed.

They headed to the nearby bar, Emily settling on a stool while Austin went to get her a drink.

While preparing the drink, he discreetly added something to her glass. He wanted Emily to get pregnant, ensuring their marriage would happen smoothly.

After spiking the drink, Austin swirled the glass and walked back to Emily, smiling as he handed her the drink. "Here you go, Emily. Some juice."

"Thanks," Emily said, taking the glass without suspicion and drinking it.

She drank half the glass before setting it aside and saying to Austin, "I think I'll just sit here for a bit."

She didn't want to deal with the flattering teachers anymore.

"Sure, I'll stay with you," Austin said, pulling up a chair to sit beside her.

Just as he sat down, before he could speak to Emily, Zachary Baker, the head of Lucien's office, approached with a smile. "Austin, could you come over? A few of us leaders want to chat with you."

Austin was surprised to see Zachary. "Mr. Baker, what's up?"

"It's about your evaluation. The leaders are all here," Zachary explained.

Austin frowned. He didn't want to leave Emily's side, especially since she had drunk the spiked juice. If he left, Lucien might... But Zachary's enthusiastic invitation was hard to refuse. After a moment's hesitation, Austin decided to go with Zachary.

The drug shouldn't kick in so quickly; he could chat briefly and return.

As soon as Austin left, Lucien approached Emily.

He said gently, "Come with me, I need to talk to you."

Emily didn't want to leave with him in such a public setting; it would surely spark gossip.

"Professor Moreau, this is your school. Please respect yourself."

Before Lucien could respond, a female teacher came over, blushing and looking at Lucien with sparkling eyes. "Professor Moreau, would you like to have a drink with me?"

Seeing someone intervene, Emily tried to stand up, but at that moment, the drug took effect.

Emily felt dizzy, and within seconds, she fainted.

Lucien immediately caught her, ignoring the surprised look from the female teacher. He bent down, picked Emily up, and left the venue.
