Chapter 618 I'm Going to Be a Dad!
Brady stood at the doorway for a moment before Violet finally noticed him. She quickly closed her magazine and asked, "Why are you just standing there? Come over here."
She had sensed someone at the door while flipping through her magazine, and sure enough, it was Brady.
"Just admiring my beautiful wife," Brady said softly, his eyes filled with a tender affection under the light. "The more I think about it, the more I wish I had met you sooner and married you earlier."
"I wouldn't have had to wait 28 years," he added with a playful grin.
Violet couldn't help but smile sweetly at his words. "It's not too late now, is it?"
"You're right," Brady nodded, walking slowly towards her. He leaned down, placing his hands on either side of her, enveloping her in his arms. He gently kissed her forehead, his voice filled with love. "Tomorrow, we're going public. Are you nervous?"
"No, not with you by my side," Violet said softly, wrapping her arms around his neck and giving him a gentle kiss.
"Good," Brady said with a grin, giving her nose a playful pinch. He then lifted her up and settled her on his lap, placing his hand on her still-small belly, feeling the life growing inside.
"In just over nine months, I'm going to be a dad again?" Brady's voice held a mix of excitement and emotion.
He had missed out on Henry and Nicole's births and early years, but this time, he was determined to be there for every moment.
"Are you happy?" Violet asked.
Brady smiled. "What do you think?"
"When the baby is born, we have to treat all three kids equally. We can't play favorites, or Henry and Nicole might feel left out," Violet said, worried that Brady might focus too much on the new baby.
"I won't. Don't worry," Brady reassured her. He would love this baby, but he would also continue to shower Henry and Nicole with all his fatherly love.
Violet nodded, snuggling closer into his embrace. She felt incredibly happy.
She had everything she wanted: a loving husband, children, and the support of Matilda and the others who cared for her and her family.
She was sure her mother, watching from above, would be happy to see her so content and not worry about her anymore.
Meanwhile, at the Devereux Villa.
Lilian had come home for a rare visit, and her mother, Eileen, immediately took her hands, inspecting her to make sure she hadn't been mistreated by Aiden.
After a thorough check, Eileen was relieved to find no signs of harm.
Although Aiden was wealthy, he had a reputation for being cruel, especially towards women. Eileen had initially opposed her daughter getting involved with him, but given the Devereux family's current dire situation, they needed a powerful ally.
Otherwise, they wouldn't survive.
Eileen had no choice but to let her daughter go to Aiden.
"Lilian, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. If it weren't for Violet, we wouldn't be suffering like this," Eileen said, her teeth grinding in anger at the mention of Violet.
It was all Violet's fault that the Devereux family had fallen apart.
"Mom, I'm back because of her," Lilian said, her own anger towards Violet evident.
They were in such a miserable state now, while Violet was about to marry into the wealthy Hall family and live a life of luxury. How could they not be jealous?
"What happened now?" Eileen asked, having been cooped up at home and unaware of recent events.
"Violet is about to marry into the Hall family!" Lilian spat out, her voice filled with bitterness.
