Chapter 704 I Miss You Every Moment of Every Day
"Of course, it's me," Brady murmured, his voice soft and full of affection.
His fingers, which had just brushed her cheek, now gently pressed against the sensitive spot near her earlobe, touching the places that made her squirm.
Violet couldn't take it anymore. Blushing, she quickly said, "Stop messing with my ear, it's too ticklish."
Brady had no intention of stopping so soon. He pulled her onto his uninjured leg, cradling the back of her head with one hand, and his thin lips gently covered her soft, pink ones.
He tenderly traced the outline of her lips over and over again.
His actions were extremely indulgent.
It was as if he were carefully cherishing his most precious treasure.
After several rounds of this gentle tracing, Brady deepened the kiss, tenderly invading.
During their passionate kiss, Brady instinctively held her tightly, murmuring lowly, "I crave you so much right now. I miss you every moment of every day."
But she was pregnant, and he couldn't make love to her.
"Mid-pregnancy is okay," Violet whispered in his ear, her face flushed, knowing how hard it was for him to hold back.
"Alright, just a few more months," Brady smiled and kissed her again.
For now, he could only kiss her to find some satisfaction. He didn't dare do anything else, fearing he might harm the baby.
Compared to the tender moments in the ward, Arthur felt a bit desolate after leaving the hospital.
He took a car back to the Stanley Mansion and had just stepped into the living room when his sister Colleen, wearing high heels, walked over and blocked his path.
Her face was serious as she said, "Come with me, I need to talk to you."
Arthur saw her expression and thought something might have happened to their grandfather, so he followed her to the poolside outside the villa.
Standing by the pool, Colleen looked at the shimmering blue water reflecting golden light and said, "Arthur, Uncle had Diana move in with Grandpa. She's supposed to take Kade's place at the Stanley Mansion for the funeral and also take care of Grandpa."
"You know what Uncle and Amanda are planning, right?"
Arthur raised an eyebrow and scoffed, "Trying to use filial piety as an excuse. Grandpa might not buy it."
"We can't be careless, especially with Grandpa being so old. If Diana takes good care of him and starts whispering in his ear, it could be bad for us," Colleen said, worried.
She paused, then angrily added, "Kade is dead, so why keep Diana around as a widow in the Stanley family? It's just because they don't have anyone else, so they have to use her."
"What does her family say?" Arthur asked, his eyes deep in thought.
Colleen snorted disdainfully, "What can they say? She married into the Stanley family, so she's considered one of us. They think we can do whatever we want with her."
"Such a worthless family."
Arthur pondered for a moment and said, "I'll move back in starting tomorrow."
Colleen was taken aback, surprised by his decision. "Why are you moving back?"
"The Stanley family has its rules, doesn't it? A 19-year-old girl taking care of Grandpa—you don't trust her, and neither do I," Arthur said calmly.
"You don't have to handle it yourself. I can arrange for someone to keep an eye on her," Colleen didn't want him to have too much interaction with Diana.
Diana seemed meek and submissive, but Colleen always felt she could cause trouble.
Especially since Arthur was 28, full of vigor, and had been without a woman for a long time.
With the two of them living together, even though she believed Arthur wouldn't be interested in Diana, some things were unpredictable.
Colleen wanted to be cautious.
"Do you trust anyone else? This is settled," Arthur said firmly. When it came to matters involving Grandpa, he didn't trust anyone else.
"I'll go check on Grandpa," Arthur said and headed back inside.
Colleen stood by the pool, her brows furrowed in thought. The reflection of the pool's light on her face made her look even more determined and fierce.
Diana couldn't stay.
