Chapter 356 Who Tampered with the Yacht Last Night
For the next 45 minutes, Brady kept his promise of intimacy, making sure Violet wouldn't forget his touch.
Violet felt ashamed. Exhausted, she blushed and rushed to the bathroom to clean up. As the water ran, Brady relaxed on the bed and called Eddy to find out who had messed with the yacht the previous night.
Eddy started investigating right away. When Violet finished her shower, Brady took his turn. By the time he was dressed, Violet was already getting ready. They left the yacht together.
It was almost noon when they left. Luckily, it was the weekend, so Violet didn't have work. Otherwise, Max would have called her by now. She sat in Brady's car, still shaken, as he drove her to the mansion.
"I have work at the office. Go home and eat something. If I'm free tonight, I'll come get you," Brady said, touching her hair. How genuine was his affection? Only he knew.
Violet realized Brady's sporadic concern didn't indicate love; in his circle, men married equals, while girlfriends were mere distractions. She cautioned herself against growing too attached.
Violet got out of the car, and Brady drove off. After his departure, she went to a pharmacy to purchase contraceptive pills, taking one immediately with water to avoid repeating the mistake of her first unplanned pregnancy due to her lack of knowledge. With a baby on the way, she found it impossible to let go.
Meanwhile, Lilian arrived early at Oliver's villa to check on him. Violet had hurt Oliver badly last night, and he couldn't get up. Lilian, pretending to be concerned, brought supplements for the Miller family. Mrs. Miller was thrilled to see Lilian, who had a good reputation, unlike Violet.
Mrs. Miller was happy Lilian visited. If Violet wasn't going to marry into the Devereux family, she hoped Lilian would. But Lilian was focused on getting Oliver back on his feet.
"Lilian, you should come over more often," Mrs. Miller said, stopping her small talk.
She didn't like the poor college girls Oliver had been seeing. They were only after the Miller family's money. She wouldn't let them near Oliver.
Lilian pretended to agree, "Sure, Mrs. Miller, I'll come over more often." Then she hurried upstairs to see Oliver lying in bed.
