Chapter 826 He Wants to See How This Clown Takes Violet from His Hands
"What are you staring at, Mr. Voss?"
Darian was fixated on Violet. Brady noticed and smirked, "I heard you and my wife went to the same school?"
"Yeah, we were classmates," Darian replied coolly, unfazed by Brady's earlier rudeness.
Violet felt a bit awkward. She didn't want the two men digging up the past.
She quickly cleared her throat and said, "Aren't you going to order?"
"There's not much to talk about from back then! Mr. Voss and I knew each other, but we weren't close," Violet said with a forced smile, trying to downplay their connection.
She was worried Brady might get overly jealous.
"My dear, I know you weren't close, but being classmates is still a kind of fate, right?" Brady turned to look at the embarrassed woman beside him, gently stroking her hair.
His affectionate gesture made the other women dining nearby quite envious.
But Darian found it extremely irritating.
He wished he could just take Violet away right then and there.
"Yeah, whatever you say," Violet conceded, feeling exasperated.
All this back and forth was just Brady's way of declaring war on Darian.
But she understood—it was just jealousy! In reality, she thought her dear husband had nothing to worry about. Darian couldn't compare to him in any way.
Most importantly, she had never had any feelings for Darian.
A long time ago, she had met Brady at a family gathering and had developed a secret crush on him.
She had remembered him all these years.
This kind of youthful crush was the least likely to change.
From the beginning until now and forever, she loved only him.
"Mr. Hall dotes on Mrs. Hall," Darian said, suppressing his inner disgust and resentment, with a natural smile on his face.
"Isn't that how it should be? She's my dear wife. Mr. Voss, when you get married, you'll spoil your wife too," Brady said with a faint smile, signaling the waiter to bring over some red wine.
This topic hit Darian's sore spot. He raised an eyebrow and smiled warmly, "Mr. Hall, no need to tease me. I already have someone in my heart and won't marry anyone else."
"If you have someone in your heart, why not marry her?" Brady looked up, suddenly staring at him intently.
"But this person is hard to marry," Darian continued.
"How so? Need my help?" Brady asked deliberately.
Darian chuckled softly at this, "Mr. Hall, thank you, but pursuing a woman is something I need to do myself."
After a pause, Darian, undeterred by Brady's intense gaze, hinted, "Even if I fail, I'll give it my all."
"Well, I'm looking forward to seeing how Mr. Voss gives it his all," Brady said with a fake smile.
"Sorry to make you laugh," Darian replied with a smile.
The two men exchanged these veiled barbs, making Violet's heart race. She wondered if Darian was talking about her. But then she thought she might be overthinking it.
He hadn't said it was her.
She decided to play dumb and focus on their business partnership, so she quickly interrupted their conversation, saying, "Mr. Voss, the dishes at this restaurant are quite good. You should try some of their specialties."
Darian nodded, responding gently, "Thank you, Ms. Devereux."
"Of course, I hope we have a pleasant collaboration."
"Sure."
After the polite exchange, Brady remained silent, glaring at Darian with a growing, menacing anger in his eyes.
He was determined to see how this clown planned to take Violet away from him.
