Chapter 887 I Want to Marry First and Love Later
"Was it just a coincidence?" Emily murmured. She didn't think her dad did it on purpose.
After all, the Moreau family and the Hart family had some history, and the Moreaus didn't like the Harts.
Her dad had no reason to do something like that.
"Alright," Violet said with a smile, patting Emily's shoulder. "Let's not dwell on it. How about joining me for a vacation? We could use some relaxation."
"I'd love to, but wouldn't I be intruding if I went alone?" Emily didn't want to be a third wheel.
"Not at all. Arthur will be there, and a few others," Violet paused, then suddenly had an idea. "Why don't you invite that guy you went on a date with? It could be a good chance to get to know him better."
Emily rolled her eyes slightly at the suggestion. "Violet, I don't have any feelings for that professor. Let alone go on vacation with him."
"Then why did you go on a date with him?" Violet was puzzled.
"I want to get married. He's decent-looking, not bad at all—tall, slim, and quite refined," Emily sighed, resting her chin on her hand. "But there's just no spark."
"Still, I thought maybe we could develop feelings after marriage?"
"Isn't it common nowadays to fall in love after getting married?" She figured she could give it a try.
"Don't settle for less!" Violet tugged at Emily's ear, unable to hold back.
Emily, a well-known heiress, had a thing for handsome guys.
She had a crush on Lucien because of his looks.
But Lucien didn't like her.
So that was that.
But there was no need to give up on love just because of one failed crush!
"I'm not settling. I genuinely want to try falling in love after marriage," Emily didn't see it as settling.
"You don't even like him, so why bother?" Violet knew her well.
Emily smiled wryly. "Feelings can grow over time. I've made up my mind. I'm going to date this professor."
"Really?" Violet was amazed.
"Of course. Why else would I enroll in his graduate class?" Emily said casually, feeling relaxed. "Violet, don't worry. I think marriage is just like that."
"The professor is a decent guy, no bad habits. My dad says a man like him will cherish me. He told me to stop being picky. I'm the only child of the Hart family, so all the family assets will be mine. I either marry for an alliance or find someone to join our family. I don't like the idea of an arranged marriage, so I chose him. My dad's judgment is never wrong!"
"If that's your decision, all I can do is wish you the best," Violet said, realizing she couldn't change Emily's mind.
Emily nodded, pausing for a moment. "I'll think about it. If I decide to join you, I'll give you a call."
"Sure," Violet agreed.
They were using Brady's private jet for the island trip, so they could leave anytime.
The next day, Violet and Brady packed light, took their two kids, and headed to the airport with Hellen and the others.
Initially, Violet wanted to bring the baby along, but Brady thought the baby was too young and might not handle the island's windy weather well. So, they left the baby with Ava.
As for the baby's need for breast milk, the frozen milk Violet had stored in the fridge would last over a week.
