Chapter 620 She Is Not a Devereux
"Mom, come check this out! Doesn't this guy look just like Violet?" Lilian shouted, as if she had just discovered a hidden treasure.
Ever since she joined the Devereux family, everyone had been comparing her to Violet, saying she wasn't as beautiful as Violet.
Sure, they looked somewhat similar, but in reality, Violet was much more refined.
The so-called resemblance was just because Lilian had been copying Violet's makeup and style for years.
Eileen, startled by her daughter's outburst, took a closer look and had to admit, "You're right, he does look like her. If you hadn't pointed it out, I would've thought this man was Violet's father."
"Mom, do you think maybe Violet isn't really part of the Devereux family?" Lilian continued.
Eileen frowned, "I asked that question years ago. Your dad insisted that Violet is his daughter, one hundred percent."
"He's just protecting his pride," Lilian scoffed, no longer believing her father's words.
No one wanted to admit they'd been betrayed.
"Can you go to the prison and ask Dad?" Lilian wanted to completely ruin Violet's reputation.
Once everyone knew that the lady of the Hall family, her mother, was a woman of ill repute, and that Violet wasn't a true Devereux but an illegitimate child, it would be over for her.
She could even find a man to play the role of Violet's real father, disrupting their announcement.
The thought made Lilian giddy with excitement.
But she needed support, so she quickly called Aiden. "Mr. White, I have a huge surprise for you."
Aiden, who was just relaxing in a bath, felt a wave of irritation at her sudden excitement. "What surprise?" he asked impatiently.
"Violet isn't part of the Devereux family," Lilian said, eager for his approval.
Aiden raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"It's simple. She's not a Devereux. She's an illegitimate child," Lilian said coldly.
"And?" Aiden replied indifferently.
"Tomorrow, when they make their official announcement, we can strip them of their dignity," Lilian said, almost wanting to applaud her own plan.
Such a brilliant idea, only she could come up with it.
"Are you sure Violet isn't part of the Devereux family?" Aiden didn't want this plan to backfire and give Brady leverage over him.
"One hundred percent sure. I just need your help tomorrow," Lilian said sweetly.
"If you can guarantee this, I'll help," Aiden said lightly.
"I can."
"Alright." After all, having someone else take the fall wasn't a bad deal for him.
Aiden hung up the phone and stood by the bathtub, contemplating what Lilian had said.
Violet wasn't a Devereux?
Then who was her real father?
But Aiden didn't care to dig deeper. He just wanted to cause trouble for Brady.
The next day, the countdown to the Hall Group president's wedding announcement began.
To prepare for the announcement, Violet had her makeup artist give her a delicate, natural look. To hide her slight baby bump, she chose not to wear a tight dress.
Instead, she picked a loose-fitting white lace dress.
With everything ready, Brady came to pick her up for the press conference. The ride was uneventful, and they were lost in their blissful happiness until they arrived at the venue.
Just as the official announcement was about to begin, Lilian suddenly walked in with a strange middle-aged man.
