Chapter 854 Now, Even a Hint of Jealousy Coulod Lead to This

Time flew by, and before Violet knew it, it was noon.

Brady had his plans and didn't show up at the office, leaving her without a lunch buddy.

So, she decided to ask Calliope to join her for lunch to talk things over.

Arthur caught wind of the situation and swung by to check in.

Violet, needing someone to eat with, invited Arthur to tag along.

They picked a restaurant conveniently close to the Hall Group building.

Once they arrived, they found a quiet corner and settled in.

As soon as they were seated, Arthur poured Violet a glass of lemon water and cut straight to the chase. "I heard Brady's in hot water again?"

"You guys sure hear things fast," Violet sighed, taking a sip of her water.

"What happened?" Arthur asked.

He'd heard all sorts of rumors—some said Brady had messed up, others claimed he'd ticked someone off and was about to get detained, and yet others suggested he was framed.

He'd even tried calling Brady, but no luck. Worried, he came to get the scoop.

"It's my fault," Violet admitted, feeling a pang of guilt as she thought about how her ambitions had led to this mess.

If she hadn't been so eager to boost JK and partner with Darian, she could've just been a wealthy, carefree designer.

But she had dreams, wanting to be as successful as her beloved and set an example for her child.

Violet bit her lip and continued, "Recently, a joint design company popped up in New Future City. It's been gobbling up a lot of design firms in town. Now, only a few of us with strong backgrounds are left standing."

"I was worried JK would get crushed by the competition, so I teamed up with Darian."

"Darian was a high school classmate who once had a crush on me. Brady never trusted him, but I insisted on signing a contract with him for JK's sake. Then Brady tried to find another talented designer to help me, so I wouldn't rely so much on Darian. But that designer got kidnapped and vanished."

"Now Brady's a suspect."

Violet explained everything in one breath, and Arthur finally got the picture.

He chuckled wryly, "He's just too jealous, getting himself into all this trouble."

If it had been a straightforward collaboration, there wouldn't have been any need for all this drama.

It all boiled down to jealousy.

"I know he's jealous, but Darian and I are just business partners," Violet said, exasperated.

"Is he being investigated now?" Arthur asked.

Violet shook her head. "It's just a routine investigation, but Brady's using it to draw out the real person behind Ms. Hernandez's kidnapping."

"Wow... only he would do something like that," Arthur said, helplessly.

The Brady he knew had changed; he used to never care about such things. Now, even a hint of jealousy could lead to this?

It was both amusing and frustrating, but Arthur felt relieved.

At least he understood the situation now, and Brady seemed to be okay.

He didn't need to rush to rescue him anymore.

"Still, I used to think Darian was fine, but now I have my doubts," Violet sighed. "But JK needs him."

That was the dilemma.

"Violet, I get your predicament," Arthur said after a moment. "So, are you suspecting Darian?"

"Not sure, there's no evidence. He's always been on my side," Violet replied. Brady suspected him, but she wasn't certain.

"Alright," Arthur nodded. "Violet, if you need any help, just call me."

"Thanks."

"No problem. With my connection to him, just say the word. Let's eat," Arthur said, signaling the waiter to take their order.

Violet nodded.

During the meal, they avoided serious topics, chatting instead about life and work.

After lunch, Arthur headed back.

Violet returned to JK, glanced at the office next to Max's, and noticed the door was closed. Darian hadn't shown up at JK today.

She took another look but didn't go out of her way to find him, turning instead to her own office.

She decided to focus on her design work for now.
