Chapter 291 Wait for Him to Toss You Aside Like a Rag

The parking lot outside the manor was vast and empty. Around 3:30 in the afternoon, the sunlight grew increasingly scorching, and the heat began to bake the entire city like boiling water.

Violet stood under the sun for a while, and a thin layer of sweat appeared on her forehead. Soon, the sweat increased to the point where Violet had to wipe it off. Seeking respite from the heat, she moved to a shaded area of the parking lot to continue waiting.

She had no idea how much longer Brady would take to come out. Honestly, if he hadn't found out about her moving, she might have gone home with Emily by now.

She didn't have to wait for him in the heat, especially since he had coerced her into being his girlfriend, which made her feel irritable just thinking about it.

Just as Violet was feeling annoyed, Lilian came out from inside. She had originally intended to flatter Isabella, but who knew Isabella would be whispering with Leana the whole time, completely ignoring everyone else.

Lilian felt both angry and jealous, but knowing Brady was with Violet made the party meaningless. She thought it might become useful when Brady tired of Violet and started seeking a serious relationship, but for now, it was pointless.

So Lilian stood there for a while before deciding to leave. She didn't plan to waste time at this party; she was thinking of ways to get her mom and grandma to get rid of Violet, which was better than staying there.

When Lilian reached the parking lot and was about to get her car, she saw Violet standing nearby after just a few steps.

Seeing her, Lilian's mind flashed back to the image of her mom being forced to cut her finger by Violet. Instantly, her heavily lined eyes glared with disgust. With the unresolved anger, she walked over in her high heels, and when she reached Violet, she coldly and sarcastically said, "Are you waiting for Brady?"

While mocking, she glanced at Violet's dress. 'It turns out to be a new foreign design.'

Lilian's eyes widened. 'This dress must cost at least 800,000 dollars! Sure enough, being with Brady means money, and even her dress starts at 800,000 dollars.' Thinking of her own dress only worth a little over 100,000 dollars, Lilian suddenly felt the gap between her and Violet had widened. 'A disgraced woman who was kicked out by the Devereux family is now wearing high-end limited edition clothes, maybe Brady gives her millions in pocket money every month.'

Comparing herself, although the Devereux family was wealthy, they were now in decline, with little family fortune left. Her monthly allowance was only a few thousand dollars, and the most expensive dress she could buy was just tens of thousands of dollars.

This comparison made Lilian even more unbalanced. Grinding her teeth, she continued to mock, "Looks like being with Mr. Hall has turned you from Cinderella into a princess. Should I call you Mrs. Hall next time?"

Violet heard Lilian's sarcasm but didn't care at all. She coldly replied, "What does that have to do with you?"

Lilian continued to sneer, her face contorting with the effort. "Of course, it has nothing to do with me. I just think you shouldn't feel so high and mighty just because you're clinging to Brady Hall."

"Do you know the purpose of today's party at the manor?" Lilian jealously sneered, "This party is for Brady to choose his future wife. The girls here today, which one of their families isn't worth millions or billions of dollars? And you, with your pathetic and shabby appearance, think you can cling to Brady for life? What a joke."

Violet listened coldly to Lilian's mockery and the purpose of the party, feeling no emotional fluctuation at all. She even found her stepsister laughable. She had never thought of clinging to Brady for life.

Moreover, she had never thought of marrying Brady or becoming the mistress of the Hall family; she just wanted to get rid of him.

If the Hall family could find a suitable girlfriend for Brady at this party, Violet would be more than happy.

"My clinging to him has nothing to do with you," Violet coldly said. "If you want to cling to him so badly, go ahead. I won't mind, but I'm afraid Mr. Hall won't even look at you."

Such a direct humiliation made Lilian furious. She raised her hand to slap Violet but couldn't bring herself to do it because Violet was now backed by Brady, and she didn't dare offend her. She could only hold back her anger and grit her teeth, saying, "I'll wait until he gets tired of you and throws you away like a rag. Then you can prepare to marry a cripple!"

After her venomous words, Lilian stomped off in her high heels towards her car, got in, and drove away.
