Chapter 396 Fanny's Condition is Not Good
Lilian wasn't about to hit up any social media influencers this time around. After the drama last time, she was scared they'd pin it on her again. So, she turned to Oliver for a favor.
Oliver might be a total jerk, but the dude knew his way around computers. He'd majored in computer science, after all.
He could handle those social media accounts and all that tech stuff.
Plus, Oliver probably had some hacker buddies.
So, Lilian sent the photos to Oliver and asked him to find a hacker to deal with it on the down-low. That way, Brady wouldn't trace it back to them.
Oliver had been busy plotting Violet's kidnapping these past few days, so he wasn't too keen on dealing with the photos.
But Lilian kept bugging him, so he finally caved and did what she asked.
After finding a hacker, Oliver hashed out the plan with him. They decided to hit the website hosting the finale of JK's fashion show the next day and plaster the photos and text there. That way, the whole world would know Violet was an 'ungrateful' woman.
With the plan set, Lilian finally chilled out and went to sleep.
Meanwhile, Max at the hospital was in for a rough night. Even though this mess had nothing to do with him, he'd ordered Fanny's dismissal today, so he felt kinda guilty.
Especially when Fanny's family showed up, all worried and asking him what was going on. He didn't have any clear answers for them.
But the cops were still digging into the attack, and they needed to wait for the two women to wake up to get more details.
After half an hour of emergency treatment, Laura woke up first, but Fanny was still in bad shape. Her condition was way worse than Laura's.
She had serious damage to the back of her head, which could lead to paralysis.
Now that Laura was awake, everyone bombarded her with questions, but she was too out of it to give any useful info.
So, they kept waiting for Fanny to wake up.
An hour and a half later, Fanny's resuscitation finally ended. The chief doctor came out of the emergency room, and Max and Fanny's family swarmed him, desperate for news.
Seeing the worried faces, the chief doctor looked grim and asked, "Are you all Fanny's family?"
Fanny's parents nodded quickly. "Yes, we are."
"Doctor, how's our daughter?"
The chief doctor sighed and said, "Her condition isn't good. The back of her head is severely damaged, and there's a lot of blood clotting in her brain, blocking the nerves. If she'd been brought in ten minutes earlier, she might not have fallen into a coma. We did our best."
"Doctor, what do you mean by that?" Fanny's parents were confused.
"She might never wake up again, basically becoming a vegetative state." The chief doctor glanced at them, clearly having done all he could. "Please be prepared."
With that, the doctor left.
Fanny's parents collapsed, crying in each other's arms, wondering what their daughter had done to deserve this.
Max stood off to the side, just as shocked. Fanny, who'd been so full of life yesterday, was now in a vegetative state. Max couldn't wrap his head around it, but there was nothing he could do.
This mess had nothing to do with him.
Even if he had fired Fanny, her accident wasn't his fault.
But Max still felt a bit torn up.
Max sat on a nearby bench to calm down. After Fanny was moved to the ICU, Max handed a $10,000 bank card to Fanny's parents, a small gesture from JK.
When he left the hospital, Max sat in his car for a long time. It was almost midnight when he finally snapped out of it and sent a message: [Violet, Fanny's condition is bad. She's in a vegetative state.]
After sending the message, he pulled himself together and drove home. All he could do now was hope the cops would catch the culprit soon.
For tomorrow's fashion show, Max decided not to pull Fanny's designs.
He'd have the models showcase Fanny's designs under her name, as the last thing he could do for her.
