Chapter 199 Violet’s Really a Piece of Work

The clock struck half-past nine at JK Design Company. Violet, fresh from her return with Max, didn't retreat to her desk as was the norm. Instead, she trailed behind him into his office, her mind a whirlpool of thoughts on how to navigate the brewing storm.

Meanwhile, the city was abuzz with whispers and rumors about a deceitful designer at JK. The company's once sterling reputation took a nosedive, its prestige tarnished in the blink of an eye. Max, the usually resourceful leader, found himself at a loss for a solution.

News of the scandal had trickled down to the other designers at the company, who had stumbled upon the gossip online. Their complaints echoed through the office, a chorus of discontent. "Violet's actions are despicable. She's not only toying with men but also displaying such a reprehensible character. It's nauseating. She's single-handedly besmirching JK’s reputation.”

The murmurs continued, each one more biting than the last. “Why is she so vile and shameless? Fresh out of college and she's already acting high and mighty. She's an absolute nuisance. With her wreaking havoc, who will approach us for designs now, knowing our reputation is at stake?”

“She's a catastrophe. We had barely recovered from the last debacle, and here she is, stirring the pot again. How can she be so callous?”

“Loraine is so forgiving, isn't she? She had pardoned Violet once, and yet Violet dares to sabotage again? Where is her integrity?”

The conversation then shifted from Violet's character to the looming crisis. "We should be focusing on damage control. This scandal could potentially ruin JK's reputation. Our competitors will perceive us as unreliable, and our clients will harbor the same sentiment. We can kiss new orders goodbye. Even our loyal customers might reconsider. It's infuriating to even contemplate. What's our next move?"

The consensus was unanimous. "We need to devise a plan. She's a ticking time bomb."

"Let's leave it to Mr. Green. He should safeguard JK's interests."

"We can only hope Mr. Green doesn't side with her, or we're finished!"

"Mr. Green isn't that naive."

"Enough chatter. This crisis is a significant concern for us. Let's brainstorm a solution."

With that, the colleagues began to strategize, fully aware that their design careers hung in the balance should the issue escalate.

Amidst the chaos, Laura remained detached. She had been plotting her exit to another high-end design company, EU Design. They had already extended an offer to her, contingent on her ability to secure some of JK's top client accounts. Laura was confident she could deliver, and she planned to do so quietly.

Seated alone in her office, Laura observed her colleagues scrambling for a solution. She then picked up the phone to call Fanny. Her intention was to lure Fannyp1, a seasoned designer at JK with top-tier clients, to EU Design. If Laura could convince her to jump ship, the executives at EU would undoubtedly be impressed.

As for Max, her unrequited love for him was futile. He remained steadfast in his support for Violet. Laura shrugged off any guilt she might have felt for poaching him from JK.

In Max's office, Max and Violet were engrossed in a discussion about the wedding dresses she had been designing. Eventually, Max decided to contact the master craftsmen at the dress factory to inquire about any recent visitors.

The master craftsman pondered. Without his consent, factory employees couldn't access his office. The only recent visitors were Miss Devereux and Laura.

Upon remembering this, the master craftsman relayed to Max, "Mr. Green, designer Laura did visit recently, but surely she's not capable of such deceit?"

Max was taken aback. He hung up the phone and relayed the information to Violet, "The factory suggested that Laura had been there."

Violet didn't bat an eyelid at the mention of Laura's name. The ones at JK who harbored the most animosity towards her were Laura and Fanny.

"Mr. Green, will you confront her?"

Max nodded gently, "I'll handle this."

Violet nodded in agreement, keeping her thoughts to herself. It was best for Max to manage this situation.
