Chapter 679 I Want to See Lilian, or You Can Prepare for the Worst
"Dad, I'm okay, but please, you have to help Lilian, alright?" Juniper's voice trembled as she fought back tears, pleading desperately.
This pitiful and humble tone was so unlike Juniper's usual demeanor.
James knew her all too well.
So he immediately realized something was wrong, his expression darkening like a storm cloud. His voice was tense. "Juniper, are you at the Devereux Villa?"
Juniper didn't dare to answer because she saw Eileen's cold gaze. Just as she was about to deny it, Eileen snatched the phone and spoke directly to James, "Mr. Lawson, we meet again so soon. Last time, you tricked me and left me empty-handed. This time, I have your precious daughter. Think carefully about what you did before, okay?"
It really was Eileen causing trouble again.
The thought of Juniper in Eileen's hands, knowing what this vicious woman was capable of, made James's heart ache. He clutched his chest, trying to suppress his anger, and said, "Mrs. Devereux, let's talk this through, but please don't hurt Juniper."
"I won't harm her. I just want Lilian back. Is that too much to ask, Mr. Lawson?" Eileen's voice was chilling, her laughter sending shivers down his spine.
"You have to promise not to hurt Juniper, and I'll help you," James gritted his teeth.
"Fine, but this is your last chance. If you mess up like before, don't expect to see Juniper alive again."
"I understand. Just don't hurt her."
"Return Lilian, and I'll give you Juniper. It's fair. Also, handle the online situation. I don't want the police involved," Eileen paused before continuing, "You have until 8 AM tomorrow. If I don't see Lilian by then, prepare for the worst."
With that, Eileen hung up abruptly.
James stared at the phone, the dial tone echoing in his ears. Overwhelmed with anger and worry, he collapsed to the floor. His assistant rushed to help him up. "Mr. Lawson, are you okay?"
"I'll call a doctor."
James waved him off, "Get Ethan here immediately. Juniper's been kidnapped by Eileen."
The assistant nodded, helping him back to the bed before quickly calling Ethan.
Meanwhile, Eileen dragged Juniper from the basement. She knew they couldn't stay there long; James would surely seek Brady's help, and she couldn't let Brady ruin her plans.
She needed to relocate.
Dragging Juniper out, her back scraped against the floor, leaving a trail of blood.
It was a gruesome sight.
Despite the pain, Juniper didn't dare scream, fearing it would anger Eileen.
She bit her lip, enduring it. Now that James knew she was kidnapped, he would surely send someone to rescue her.
Eileen taped Juniper's mouth shut again and shoved her into the trunk of a car, driving away from the Devereux Villa.
She was heading to a secluded temple in the Golden Autumn Hills.
This temple had long been under the Devereux family's protection, making it a perfect hideout where no one would find them.
