Chapter 857 Why Would He Suddenly Turn On Violet over This
Violet left the parking lot, and Darian headed back to the police station. But after just a few steps up the stairs, he suddenly felt something was off.
Was Brady really that mad? Or was he just putting on an act?
Back at the boxing gym, Brady had been furious, telling him to get lost.
Why would he suddenly turn on Violet over this?
Darian thought it over calmly. He couldn't afford to be careless.
Brady wasn't the type to change his mind so easily.
Then again, maybe he was. Maybe all that affection before was just for show?
Darian decided he would test Violet tomorrow to see what she thought.
If she had already given up on Brady, then even if Brady was playing tricks, Darian wouldn't mind.
He was confident he could win Violet over.
With that thought, he quickened his pace to give his statement.
What he didn't know was that the place he was headed to was an interrogation room used for questioning suspects.
The room was dimly lit, with only a single desk lamp casting a faint glow, making the space feel oppressive. The walls were solid, with a one-way mirror on one side.
From the moment Darian sat down, he eyed the room suspiciously.
Normally, friends and family wouldn't be questioned in a place like this.
But maybe things were different here in Crestoria. Even though he was suspicious, he didn't say anything.
Instead, he cooperated naturally with the police investigation into his teacher's disappearance.
He answered every question smoothly, without a single slip-up, as if he truly knew nothing.
This made Brady, watching from outside the interrogation room, narrow his eyes in deep thought.
Darian was too cunning, managing to answer every question without a single flaw.
Impressive, truly a genius designer.
Far smarter than the average person.
"Mr. Hall, he has a perfect alibi and no flaws in his story. We can't investigate him further," the police captain beside him said in a low voice.
"Captain Jenkins, the more perfect something is, the more suspicious it becomes."
Otis didn't deny it. "Mr. Hall, I'm sorry for the inconvenience. We'll get to the bottom of this."
"Captain Jenkins, it's no trouble. Every citizen must cooperate with the police." Brady didn't feel wronged at all. As long as it exposed the criminal and kept him away from his beloved, he was willing to do anything.
Otis nodded and continued watching the interrogation with Brady.
The next morning, Violet woke up and remembered the handkerchief she had received last night. She quickly got up, carefully took the handkerchief out of her bag with a tissue, and placed it in an empty plastic box.
She closed the lid and put it away.
After that, Violet went to the bathroom to freshen up and chose a dark outfit to wear.
Today, she had to continue playing the role of the abandoned woman.
She couldn't wear anything too bright or cheerful.
Violet applied light makeup and went downstairs for breakfast.
Downstairs, Hellen, holding the already awake baby, saw Violet in such a dark dress and couldn't help but comment, "Violet, why are you dressed so gloomily?"
She remembered Brady had bought her many beautiful dresses, and she had been wearing them every day recently.
Why was she wearing such an old, dull dress today?
"I haven't worn this dress in a long time, so I thought I'd wear it today," Violet said as she took the baby from Hellen and began to feed her.
Hellen served breakfast and continued, "I think you look better in brighter colors. This looks so drab and lifeless."
"Do I look lifeless?" Violet asked while feeding the baby.
That was exactly the effect she wanted.
Lifeless, like someone who had been hurt.
"Yes, it's so gray," Hellen said honestly, "But you always look good no matter what you wear."
"I'll be dressing like this for the next few days," Violet said, smiling at Hellen while holding the baby.
Hellen was puzzled, "What? Why?"
"No reason, I'll tell you next time," Violet didn't plan to tell Hellen about Darian.
Especially since it involved Brady.
The fewer people who knew, the better.
"Alright, it's your business, I won't interfere," Hellen said with a smile and went to get breakfast for Henry and Nicole.
Violet continued feeding the baby for a full half-hour.
The baby, full and content, started waving her arms and legs at Violet, as if playing.
Even though she was only two months old and didn't understand much, she could sense Violet.
So as long as Violet held her, she was happy.
She wanted to cling to Violet forever.
Seeing the baby so happy after eating, Violet couldn't help but kiss her several times, making the baby laugh.
Violet laughed with her, but then she remembered Brady was at the police station, and she felt a pang of sadness. How wonderful it would be if Brady were with them?
The baby would be even happier.
Thinking of this, Violet remembered she had more important things to do today.
She handed the baby to the nanny, hugged Henry and Nicole, and then grabbed her briefcase and headed to work.
