Chapter 981 Ms. Reed, Actually I'm Not Very Interested in You

Willow poured the wine, putting on her best sweet and innocent act as she sauntered over to Lucien. She placed the glass on the table in front of him and started to fawn over him. "Lucien, if you're not having fun here, we could leave together in a bit?"

"No thanks, I'm used to walking alone," Lucien replied coolly. He paused, his gaze sweeping over her heavily made-up face under the dim, flickering lights. With a respectful tone, he added, "Ms. Reed, I'm really not interested."

He didn't like playing flirting games with women. If he liked someone, he expressed it directly. If he didn't, he wouldn't lead them on. Just like with Emily before, he hadn't even realized he had feelings for her before he pushed her away.

Willow hadn't expected him to be so blunt. She hadn't even had a chance to chat with him, and he had already shut her down. Her surgically enhanced eyes widened in shock.

She stared at him with an exaggerated expression, her fingers clenching tightly. Luckily, they were close enough, and the deafening music around them drowned out his words, so no one else heard, sparing her some embarrassment.

But still, her pride was wounded.

"Lucien, we just met. You don't know me yet. You can't be so absolute," she insisted.

"No need to know you," Lucien rejected her without hesitation.

Willow fell silent. What was with this guy? What was wrong with her? But the more he rejected her, the more determined she became.

Lucien was really handsome, and his family background was impressive. He was exactly her type, and she couldn't let anyone else have him.

So, Willow didn't get too discouraged. She continued to play the sweet, gentle girl. "It's okay, Lucien. You might not like me now, but I like you. I'll make you accept me eventually."

Lucien didn't like this kind of persistence. Strangely, though, he hadn't been as annoyed by Emily's persistence before. It really depended on the person.

But he didn't like playing games, so he had rejected Emily outright.

Lucien snapped back to reality, thinking of something else to say to reject Willow again. But then he realized it was pointless to say more, so he just stayed silent.

He was here to fulfill a promise to Marlowe. Once he got back, he could just ignore her.

Willow saw that he wasn't responding, and her face turned sour. A fire of anger started to burn in her chest.

She was furious. She, Willow, was a rich girl born with wealth. She always got what she wanted. She couldn't fail with Lucien.

She had to find a way to make him drink this wine, have sex with him, and get pregnant. That would solve everything.

While Willow was plotting, other male classmates started to approach Violet and Emily.

After all, their natural beauty stood out among the other girls in the class. And unlike some, their beauty wasn't the result of plastic surgery.

The guys in the class were naturally eager to make a move. One by one, they came over with their drinks, using the excuse of toasting to try to ask them out.

"Violet, Emily, it's been so long! You two never joined our group chat, so we had no idea where you were," a chubby, greasy rich kid said, trying to flatter them.

Next, a skinny rich kid with a rat-like face came over to Emily. "Emily, I always thought you were beautiful back in school. I can't believe you're still so gorgeous after all these years. Do you have a boyfriend now?"

"If not, how about giving me a chance?" he added with a sleazy grin.

Emily couldn't be bothered with his nonsense and bluntly replied, "I do."

"Really? You have a boyfriend? Who is he? My heart is breaking!" the skinny rich kid said, pretending to be heartbroken. The chubby rich kid quickly nudged him and said, "Are you stupid? Didn't she mention in the group chat that her boyfriend is also a professor?"
