Chapter 725 How Could Someone Who Opposes Her Be in Brady's Company
After Brady finished giving instructions, he headed back to the parking lot where Violet was still waiting in the car.
Charlotte saw this and was determined not to miss any opportunity.
Last time, Brady didn't appreciate the lipstick mark on the document, nor was he swayed by her perfume.
She realized he wasn't easy to charm, so she decided not to seek him out at the office to avoid exposing her plans.
But tonight was a chance.
Charlotte knew that to get Brady's attention, she had to make a bold move.
Amid the chaos of reporters arguing with the workers, Charlotte grabbed a piece of glass she had hidden earlier and slashed her wrist hard.
Instantly, bright red blood spurted from her wrist, splattering onto Calliope's hand.
Calliope, being naive, was shocked and cried out, "Charlotte, are you okay? What happened to your hand?"
"It seems a worker cut me. It hurts so much. Am I going to die?" Charlotte said weakly.
Calliope calmed down and quickly supported her, pressing on the wound with her other hand, reassuring her, "No, you won't die. I'll take you to the hospital right away!"
But the scene was too chaotic to ask the supervisor for help; he needed to manage the situation.
Calliope didn't drive here.
Both she and Charlotte had come in the supervisor's car.
Worried that the wound might have severed an artery, Calliope supported Charlotte and saw Brady walking ahead.
Charlotte weakly hinted, "Calliope, it hurts so much. I feel so cold. Am I going to die? What should we do?"
"No, you won't. Don't worry."
"It's so far to the hospital. And I don't want Mr. Hall to worry about us," Charlotte continued to hint weakly.
Calliope, being simple-minded, was reminded by her and saw Brady walking ahead.
She immediately called out, "Mr. Hall, wait a moment."
Brady heard Calliope's voice and turned around.
He saw Calliope supporting the seemingly collapsing Charlotte and the large bloodstain on Charlotte's dress.
Brady's handsome brows furrowed instantly. When Calliope approached, he asked, "What's going on?"
"Charlotte was cut by a worker. We don't have a car, and her wound looks serious. Mr. Hall, can you arrange a car for us?" Calliope said, panting.
Brady glanced at Charlotte's wound, which was still bleeding despite Calliope's grip.
"Get in my car first," Brady said.
The situation was too chaotic to call another car in time.
Calliope nodded and helped Charlotte towards his car.
At the car, Brady told Calliope, "Violet is also in the car."
Calliope was a bit surprised, "Violet is here too?"
Brady nodded, his gaze never once landing on Charlotte, and said, "Take her inside first. There's a first aid kit in the car; you can use it to treat her wound."
Calliope understood, while Charlotte weakly said, "Mr. Hall, I'm sorry for dirtying your car."
"You were injured on duty. Just get in," Brady said indifferently, then walked around to the other side and opened the door to tell Violet, "An employee was injured by a worker. We're taking her to the hospital."
Violet didn't think much of it.
After all, they couldn't just leave an injured employee, right?
So she nodded and said, "Okay."
Then she turned to look at Calliope and the injured Charlotte.
In the dimly lit car, Charlotte leaned on Calliope's shoulder.
Her hair covered her face, and Violet squinted in the dim light, her gaze sharpening.
This employee looked familiar.
Where had she seen her before?
Violet stared for a few moments before realizing it was Lilian's cousin, Charlotte.
She had been at the Devereux family briefing that day.
How could someone who opposed her be working at Brady's company?
