Chapter 285 Violet, How Bold to Hide!
The party Emily mentioned was held at a high-end private estate in New Future City.
Violet currently didn't have a decent dress to wear. Initially, she planned just to wear anything casual, but Emily disagreed. She insisted that Violet should look beautiful, so she specifically took out a brand new pearl sequin blush-colored dress from her own wardrobe for her.
Emily bought this dress for 800,000 dollars while she was overseas.
She wore it only once, but it didn't suit her style, so she never wore it again. But when she gave it to Violet, she realized a beautiful girl would always look like a fairy no matter what she wore.
Violet was one of those people. Despite the difficulty of pulling off this dress, she looked truly ethereal in it. With a bit of makeup, Emily couldn't help but admire her.
She was too beautiful, too ethereal.
However, Violet felt a bit overdressed in it. She wasn't a socialite anymore. Wearing such a beautiful and expensive dress made her feel uncomfortable. So when she accompanied Emily to the estate party, she basically stood by Emily's side as a backdrop.
But Violet was too beautiful. Wherever she went, she stood out. Some people in the circle knew her and started discussing her on the side.
"Isn't that Violet Devereux who was kicked out by the Devereux family? How come she's attending this party?"
"Yeah. Look, she is wearing the latest foreign fashion, where did she get the money?"
"Isn't she with Emily? She really latched onto a wealthy friend."
"Her reputation was quite bad before, wasn't it? Heard she was kicked out by the Devereux family for messing around with men. Is she here to find a rich man?"
"It's not impossible. Speaking of which, she really is disgusting, indecent, and shameless, always looking for men."
"We should have Mrs. Jones kick her out, she's really a downer of the upper-class party."
"I'll go tell Mrs. Jones." A socialite volunteered to inform the organizer of the gathering, Isabella Jones.
The rest continued to gossip about Violet.
Violet actually heard their discussions about her, but since she never intended to mingle with high society, she let them gossip. After the party, they would go on with their lives, and she with hers.
Nothing to be concerned about.
"Violet, would you like some dessert?" Emily found the place too boring, and she detested the self-righteous faces of those socialites, so she didn't plan to stay long. Having collected some desserts from the table, she then approached Violet.
Violet shook her head. "I'm not hungry. By the way, is there a restroom here? I want to wash my hands." She was a bit nervous and sweaty from accompanying her earlier. Her palms were a bit sticky.
"Yes, it's inside. Let me take you." Emily put down the dessert and was about to take Violet to the restroom when someone who knew Emily came over to greet her. Seeing this, Violet said, "Emily, I'll go by myself, you have a friend here, you can chat with her."
Emily agreed and told Violet the exact location of the restroom before engaging in conversation with her friend.
Violet went to the restroom alone to wash her hands. Not long after she entered, Brady arrived. Leana and Lilian also came to attend this upscale party.
Of course, Brady came to catch Violet, so upon entering, he didn't wait for everyone to come and flatter him, he went straight inside to find Violet.
In the luxurious restroom of the estate, Violet stood at the crystal-inlaid sink, finished washing her hands, took a tissue to wipe them, and prepared to leave.
Suddenly, the restroom door was pushed open. Violet thought it was a woman coming in to use the toilet.
But when Violet turned to look at the door, her face froze for a moment. It was Brady, and he didn't seem to be in a good mood.
Violet glanced at Brady, then snapped back to reality, dropped the napkin she was holding, and prepared to leave.
However, Brady was there to catch her, so where could she hide?
As Violet tried to leave, she essentially walked into the trap, being pulled by Brady into his strong arms, pressed against the door of the restroom, his tall figure leaning down, his voice cold and filled with anger. "Violet, how bold of you to hide from me?"
