Chapter 1043 The Pressure Violet Gave Her Today, She Will Return Double Tomorrow
The Hall family's car cruised smoothly down the road.
Violet sent Lucien a quick text about everything that had happened today, then leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes to rest.
In the Hall Group's president's office.
Aria and Matilda were still there, and Brady was starting to get a bit of a headache dealing with the two of them.
"Grandma, I talked to Violet about Aria's situation. It's not a big deal," Brady said calmly, twirling a pen in his hand.
Matilda smiled slightly. "That's good. Even though Aria wasn't adopted by our family, she's had a tough life just like Calliope."
"We need to help them more."
The Hall family had adopted Calliope.
Aria was taken in by distant relatives of the Hall family.
Brady had no issue with helping those in need. The Hall Group had a dedicated charity department that supported underprivileged students every year.
But now they were both adults.
Brady didn't want to continue offering aid in the same way.
They would need to become self-reliant.
"Grandma, no matter how much charity the Hall Group does, it has to be selective. Aria is an adult now; she can handle her own affairs."
"I know, it's just a little help with work. Besides, Aria is still family, right?" Matilda was kind-hearted and often softened on many issues.
Brady couldn't argue with her, so he stopped twirling his pen and said, "Grandma, just this once."
Charity is charity, but there have to be limits.
"Alright, I understand." Matilda wouldn't interfere with the Hall Group's business.
She was just helping Aria a bit.
"Mr. Hall, I'm sorry for causing any trouble," Aria said softly from the side.
Brady glanced at her, his expression calm and unruffled. "It's fine. Grandma has a soft heart."
Aria nodded and didn't say more.
At that moment, there was a knock on the office door.
It was Eddy and Violet.
She had arrived.
"Mr. Hall, Mrs. Hall is here."
As soon as Brady heard it was his beloved wife, his previously calm eyes lit up. This subtle change went unnoticed by Matilda, but Aria, with her ulterior motives, certainly noticed.
She felt a slight pang of jealousy.
Her long lashes lowered slightly, as if to hide her emotions.
"Come in," Brady said.
The office door opened, and Violet walked in, seeing Matilda and Aria sitting by the desk.
She wasn't surprised.
Instead, she smiled and walked over to Matilda first. "Grandma, what brings you here in person?"
"I'm here for Aria and to check on you two," Matilda replied cheerfully upon seeing Violet.
"I see," Violet nodded, her gaze instinctively shifting to Aria.
Aria was looking at her too.
The silent challenge between the two women was palpable.
"Grandma, don't worry. I'll take good care of Aria at JK," Violet continued.
Matilda nodded in relief. "That's good."
"By the way, how about we all have dinner together?" Matilda suggested.
Brady chimed in at the right moment, "Grandma, don't forget we're newlyweds. We need some private time."
Matilda understood, raising a hand to her forehead with a smile. "Right, right, I'm getting forgetful. Aria and I will have dinner together. We won't intrude on you two lovebirds."
With that, Matilda turned to Aria. "Aria, join me for dinner?"
Aria agreed without hesitation. "Sure."
As the two of them got up to leave, Violet's gaze fell on the bold tattoo on Aria's right arm. She smiled slightly and said to Aria, "Ms. Clark, it would be best if you could remove the tattoo on your arm before joining us at JK. We prefer our designers to have a more conventional appearance."
In reality, JK had no such rule. JK was very inclusive, welcoming designers with all kinds of unique styles.
But Violet wasn't going to make it easy for someone like Aria, who had ulterior motives, to fit in at JK.
Aria met Violet's gaze without hesitation. "Alright, I'll get it removed tonight."
Removing a tattoo was painful.
Aria knew that well, especially since she had gotten the tattoo to commemorate Brady.
However, the pressure Violet was putting on her today would be remembered, and she planned to repay it double in the future.
