Chapter 173 It Can't Be Brady Hall

"She threatened me!" Lilian Devereux stifled sobs, biting her lip and forcing tears, portraying herself as truly victimized by Violet Devereux. "Grandma, you have no idea how brazen she's become. She's out there, seducing men left and right, especially Brady Hall. She thinks by clinging to Brady Hall; she can oppress our Devereux family."

Lilian Devereux kept it up, wiping fake tears, her shoulders shaking, "Grandma, she's holding a grudge against us. She must resent you for kicking her out."

"Oh, and Grandma, she even," Lilian Devereux trailed off, feigning distress as she nibbled on her lip in feigned fear of speaking further.

Mrs. Devereux, observing her granddaughter's hesitance, gently patted her hand and reassured her, "Sweetheart, just speak your mind. Grandma will take care of everything."

"She said she's going to curse you, to send you straight to hell!" Lilian Devereux blurted out, casting a watchful eye on Mrs. Devereux's face as she exaggerated the threat.

As soon as she said, Mrs. Devereux clenched her fists, , trembling with fury. "That little brat, daring to mess with the Devereux family, I'll show her what we're made of!" Mrs. Devereux was completely shaken by Lilian's deceitful words.

She still remembered finding those curse totems in Violet Devereux's mother's room.

To be cursed meant a direct descent into the deepest hells upon death.

How could Mrs. Devereux tolerate even the suggestion of being condemned to such a fate?

Like mother, like daughter.

How dare Violet Devereux follow in her mother's footsteps, cursing her as well?

Absolutely heartless—to think that such a creature deserved to exist!

She should be damned just like her wicked mother.

With these thoughts, Mrs. Devereux continued, "Don't cry, my dear. Grandma is in charge here; nothing will come of her threats with me around."

Seeing Mrs. Devereux so enraged and willing to intervene, Lilian didn't pile on any further, simply nodding obediently.

"Mom, don't be upset; shall I help you to your room to rest?" Eileen Morgan, who had been silent until now, perfectly played the role of the doting daughter, helping Mrs. Devereux to her bedroom.

After ensuring Mrs. Devereux was resting, Eileen left the room.

Lilian had wiped her fake tears and was staring venomously at the TV in the living room, plotting her next moves.

Though Mrs. Devereux had promised to help her, there was no guarantee she could outmaneuver Violet.

Thus, she had to prepare a backup plan.

"Lilian, you were telling the truth to Mrs. Devereux, right?" Eileen Morgan came over and took a seat beside her daughter, asking, "Did she really bully you?"

"No bullying," Lilian Devereux said, drawing her gaze back, "But everything else seems true. She's been getting close to Brady Hall. I'm not sure if they're dating or not?"

"Mom, you know I like Brady Hall. The last time you guys schemed against her, you dragged Brady into it. You know I was upset for months."

She knew Lilian's feelings for Brady, but who could've guessed that mess-up?
She tenderly touched her daughter's face and said, "Sweetheart, don't be angry. We won't let her to be with Brady Hall. That tramp deserves to be gone, just like her mother."

Lilian Devereux nodded. "If we can't get rid of her, let's find a way to get her married off?"

Eileen Morgan paused, then asked, "Married off? To whom?"

"Anyone! A blind man, a vegetable, anyone but Brady Hall," Lilian Devereux spat venomously.

Eileen understood instantly, and a sinister smile curled her lips. "Don't worry, leave that to me."

"Good."
