Chapter 787 I Want to Stay by Your Side and Serve You

After the Charlotte incident was resolved, Violet's status within the Hall Group skyrocketed.

Before, the employees at the Hall Group had looked down on her, even though they knew she was a socialite from the Lawson Corporation.

They always thought Brady wouldn't spoil her that much.

But this time, everyone could see that Brady truly doted on Violet.

Letting her handle such an important company-wide video conference. That was giving her Brady's authority.

Plus, the Charlotte incident was originally a private matter that involved Brady's reputation, yet he didn't mind and let Violet handle it.

It seemed they would have to show Violet more respect in the future.

Otherwise, offending her would be equivalent to offending Brady.

Meanwhile, at the Hall Mansion.

Ever since Matilda took Helena to various socialite gatherings she organized, the rumors about Brady keeping a young girl quickly dissipated.

No one mentioned or spread it anymore.

With the rumors gone, Matilda wanted to help Helena find a job so she could be independent.

After all, Helena didn't want to be a maid, and Matilda couldn't just keep her around without a purpose.

So, this afternoon, Matilda thought of talking to Ava to see if she had any suitable jobs for Helena.

Ava had been busy filming, and today was the last day of shooting.

She finally had some time to come back.

As soon as she returned, before she could even sit down on the couch to catch her breath, Matilda brought Helena to see her.

"Ava, perfect timing! I need your help with something," Matilda said with a smile, pulling Helena along as she approached Ava.

Ava, feeling a bit tired, rubbed her temples and asked, "Mom, what's up?"

"Well, Brady helped this young girl, and now she's homeless. I wanted to ask if you have any suitable jobs for her," Matilda explained, pushing Helena in front of Ava.

Ava immediately looked at Helena, sizing her up.

Helena appeared innocent, but there was a shrewdness in her eyes that suggested she wasn't as naive as she seemed.

Ava had been in the industry long enough to read people well, so she raised an eyebrow and asked skeptically, "Mom, what's her story? How did she end up homeless?"

Ava had been away filming and wasn't aware of Helena's situation.

"Her parents are scoundrels who sold her. She's afraid to go back home, fearing she'll be sold again. I felt sorry for her and wanted to help," Matilda said, feeling a pang of sympathy and sadness for Helena's plight.

If Helena had grown up in a normal family, she would be in college at her age.

Her future would have been bright.

Instead, she was now drifting aimlessly.

"Oh, I see," Ava said, understanding the situation. She thought for a moment and then said, "Mom, I do have a job, but I'm not sure if she's willing to work hard."

"She definitely can," Matilda said with a smile.

"Helena, are you willing to work for me?" Ava asked directly, not as easily swayed as Matilda.

Helena glanced at the shrewd and assertive Ava, then at the kind Matilda. Weighing her options, she suddenly knelt in front of Matilda. She didn't want to work for Ava.

If she went to work for Ava, she wouldn't be able to stay here.

And she wouldn't be able to wait for Brady.

She had to wait for him.

Besides, Ava didn't seem as easy to deceive or as accommodating as Matilda. She chose to stay with Matilda.

"Matilda, please don't send me away. I'm willing to be a maid. I want to stay by your side and take care of you," Helena said, starting to cry. "I never had a grandmother, and when I see you, I feel a special bond. I want to stay with you. Please don't send me away."
