Chapter 741 How Did She Get This Men's Cologne
"I'll go ask for you. I need to get Lucien's number anyway," Emily said, rolling up her sleeves and gearing up to ask for his phone number.
Violet, only mildly curious, shrugged. "No need, I'll wait for you at the door."
"Alright," Emily replied, gathering her courage and heading towards the podium.
Violet went to wait outside the classroom by herself.
While she was waiting, someone suddenly bumped into her from behind.
Violet lost her balance and almost fell, but someone caught her just in time.
Startled, Violet turned to see who had helped her.
It was the man wearing the bucket hat.
But now, he was also wearing a mask, as if he were trying to avoid being recognized.
Now, Violet couldn't see his face at all.
She frowned slightly, puzzled by his masked face, and after a few seconds, she said, "Thanks."
"No problem," the man replied softly.
His fingers, which had steadied her, subtly brushed a bit of his unique cologne onto her dress.
Violet didn't notice this small gesture.
She smiled gratefully and took a step back to maintain some distance. "Thanks again."
The man didn't say anything else and walked away.
Violet watched his tall figure disappear down the hallway, feeling a strange sense of familiarity, but she didn't dwell on it and continued waiting for Emily.
Soon, Emily came out, looking disappointed. "Violet, he wouldn't give me his number."
"Don't sweat it, you can still arrange a date," Violet said, playfully tapping Emily's nose to comfort her.
Emily thought about it and agreed.
Being rejected once didn't matter; she could still pursue him.
"If I like him, I'll go after him," she said determinedly.
"Let's go," Violet said, taking her hand and heading down the stairs together.
At the other end of the staircase, Darian watched Violet go down, his eyes burning with a mix of passion and longing.
He knew she was married.
And married well.
But so what? He wasn't doing badly either.
Violet was the first woman he ever loved.
Even though she had rejected him back then, he still wanted to win her back.
Darian watched her retreating figure with deep emotion.
Lucien walked over and saw where his gaze was fixed.
"She's married. You don't need to waste your time on her," Lucien said.
He knew about Darian's rejection years ago and how it had left him devastated for a long time.
"So what if she's married? People can get divorced," Darian said, seemingly unfazed by her marital status.
"Darian, as your friend, I hope you don't do this. Do you know who her husband is?" Lucien said helplessly. "You're no match for him. Besides, ask yourself, after all these years, do you love her? Or are you just hung up on being rejected?"
Only friends truly understand each other.
"How could you say that? I do love her," Darian said with a smile, not minding that Lucien had exposed his true feelings.
Being rejected was one thing, but his longing for her was real.
She was the first woman he ever loved, and the unfulfilled love had turned into an obsession.
That evening, Violet played with their two kids for a while before going upstairs to bring Brady some coffee.
She carried the coffee to the study, where Brady was leaning back in his chair, one hand on his laptop, reviewing some documents.
Violet walked over, set the coffee down, and asked, "Thirsty? Want some coffee?"
Brady glanced at her and smiled. "Sure."
As he took the cup from her, he caught a whiff of men's cologne.
Violet didn't wear perfume.
And this wasn't a woman's scent; it was a cologne commonly used by men.
Who had she seen today?
How did she end up with this cologne on her?
