Chapter 628 Photo Spread Abroad
After Gerry went inside, Violet and Brady stayed seated for a while before leaving.
As they exited the prison, Violet suddenly threw herself into Brady's arms, unable to hold back her sobs. "He tortured my mom for so long. And me too. How can someone be so selfish?"
He didn't love her, and even if he knew it was just an arrangement, he could have ended things peacefully. But he chose to torment her instead.
"Don't cry. From now on, you have me. You have the Hall family. We'll all take care of you," Brady said, holding her tightly. "And remember, you have our children too."
"Okay." Thinking of the kids, Violet stopped crying. She needed to be strong. She couldn't let herself be overwhelmed like this.
"Let's head back?" Brady gently wiped the tears from her face.
Violet nodded.
As they got into the car, Brady suddenly asked, "Do you want to look into your biological father's background?"
Violet looked at him and shook her head firmly. "I don't want to. He abandoned my mom. What's the point of finding him?"
Brady nodded. "Then we won't. From now on, the Hall family is your family. My dad is your dad."
"Speaking of which, my dad asked about you today. He was wondering if you're doing okay with everything that's been going on. He wanted me to tell you not to pay attention to all the noise out there. He considers you part of the Hall family already and says he'll always be there for you."
Violet felt a wave of gratitude and happiness. How lucky was she to have met Brady and his family?
"Tell your dad I'm not worried."
Brady smiled and pinched her cheek. "Why don't you tell him yourself? He likes chatting with you, and the kids too."
Violet sniffled, nodded, and hugged him tightly again.
And just like that, the matter was quickly put behind them.
However, the online buzz continued. The photo Lilian had posted spread far and wide, even reaching the prestigious Lawson family in Eldoria across the ocean.
The handsome man in the photo was none other than James Lawson, the head of Lawson Corporation.
James's eldest son, Ethan Lawson, had printed the photo from the internet and brought it to his father. "Dad, this photo is going viral back home. The woman in it..."
Ethan was planning to start a business back home, so he was keeping a close eye on domestic trends.
James took the photo from his son, glanced at it, and his face instantly changed to one of shock. He slammed the photo onto the table. "Why is this photo online?"
So much time had passed, he had forgotten about this picture.
"People are saying the woman in the photo had a child. And that child... is the man in the photo's..." Ethan said quietly, fearing his father's anger.
"They're also saying the woman was a nightclub prostitute."
"That's nonsense!" James was furious. Evelyn was definitely not a prostitute!
"Dad, is this true?" Ethan was more concerned about the girl. Because she had recently married into a local wealthy family. That was why the photo had resurfaced.
"What are you talking about?" James's thoughts were scattered.
"People are saying you and the woman had a daughter, and now she's grown up and married," Ethan explained.
James frowned in disbelief. "A daughter? How is that possible?"
He and Evelyn had been intimate a few times, but he remembered taking precautions. He had even offered to bring her to Eldoria, but she had refused because she was getting married. So there shouldn't be any child involved.
But what if she had lied to him?
James suddenly found himself in a whirlwind of thoughts, but amidst the chaos, he felt a small sense of anticipation. If it were true, he wanted to meet this girl. And Evelyn. They hadn't seen each other in over 20 years. He wondered how she was doing.
