Chapter 367 I Want to Build a Relationship More
The next morning, as the sun peeked over the horizon, Violet was planning to head to work but decided to call Max for a half-day off 'cause she was moving to Brady's crib.
The move kicked off bright and early. When Emily rolled in last night, Violet spilled the beans.
Emily was floored. She couldn't wrap her head around Brady being such a control freak.
But the paternity test was in. Legally, Brady was Henry and Nicole's dad, so he had the right to have them crash at his place.
Emily was fuming but couldn't do much. She also snagged a half-day off to help Violet move to the nearby No. 2 Mansion.
They started packing up clothes. After a bit, Emily let out a sigh. "Violet, it's chill you're not moving far. We're still in the same hood. Otherwise, I'd be totally freaking out."
"It's cool, I'll handle it," Violet said, way calmer today. Yesterday, she was too pissed to think straight.
After a night of mulling it over, she got a better grip on the situation.
She and Brady were like night and day.
"If you need anything, just hit me up. I live right here, and you can swing by anytime," Emily said, giving Violet's shoulder a reassuring pat.
Violet nodded. "Okay, thanks."
Emily grinned, "We're besties, no need to be all formal."
"Got it," Violet replied.
They kept packing while Hellen sorted the kids' clothes and toys.
Henry saw Hellen and his mom packing and dashed over with his Transformers toy, asking, "Hellen, where are we going?"
"Henry, we're moving to a new pad," Hellen said, ruffling his hair.
"Where?" Henry asked, eyes wide with curiosity.
"Not far, just next door," Hellen said, stuffing things into a big bag.
Henry tilted his head, puzzled. 'We just moved here, and the house is huge and awesome. I can play hide and seek with Nicole here. Why move again? And next door, does it have a big house too?' he wondered.
Thinking of a big house, Henry said, "I want a big one."
Hellen sighed, "The place next door has big rooms too. You and Nicole can play hide and seek there."
Hearing this, Henry clapped his hands and started spinning in circles.
After a couple of spins, the doorbell rang.
Hellen opened the door to find Brady, his assistant, and a lawyer.
Seeing him, Hellen's face turned stone-cold. "Hello, Mr. Hall."
"Are Henry and Nicole inside?" Brady asked politely, ignoring Hellen's icy vibe.
Hellen responded coolly, "Yeah, come in."
Even though she wasn't a fan of Brady, Hellen knew she couldn't tick him off.
But he shouldn't expect any warm fuzzies from her.
With Hellen's okay, Brady walked in and saw the kids playing by the sofa.
Brady walked over and said, "Henry, Nicole, wanna live with Daddy?"
'Daddy? Live with him? Why?' Henry thought.
Henry and Nicole looked confused until Hellen said, "Mr. Hall, they're still little."
"I know, that's why I want to take them to live with me, to build a better bond," Brady said, patting their heads gently without pushing them to call him "Daddy".
