Chapter 399 Have You Forgotten About Violet's Affair?
The female guests kept sneaking peeks at Brady, and Lilian, sitting nearby, was fuming with jealousy. She knew a guy like Brady would always be the center of attention.
'Look at these women, acting like they haven't seen a dude in forever,' Lilian thought, wishing she could just rip their eyes out.
Lilian shot daggers at the women ogling Brady. Meanwhile, Oliver spotted Violet and instantly remembered that time at Hall Group when Brady had kicked on his leg. That moment was burned into his memory.
That kick had left Oliver bedridden, feeling like a total invalid.
Oliver held a grudge against Violet for that.
It was all Violet's fault for pissing him off.
Oliver gave Violet a cold stare before shifting his gaze to the guy across the room. He felt a shiver run down his spine and whispered to Lilian, "Brady's here too. Think he'll screw things up?"
"What are you scared of? Didn't you hire a hacker? You really think Brady's gonna figure it out?" Lilian thought Oliver was being a total wuss.
'So what if Brady's here? No way he's as good as a hacker,' Lilian thought Brady couldn't outsmart a tech whiz.
"Idiot! You have no clue how sharp Brady is. You think a hacker makes you untouchable?" Oliver had seen Brady's skills up close.
He knew Brady wasn't someone to mess with lightly.
Oliver had to stay on his toes!
"Oliver, you thinking of bailing now?" Lilian caught the hesitation in Oliver's voice and frowned. Then she sweetened her tone, "Oliver, you can't chicken out now. Remember Violet's affair? You can't just let that slide, right?"
Oliver was getting fed up with Lilian's nagging. He was just worried about things going south. "I'm not bailing. I'm just thinking ahead. You're all carefree, but if Brady catches me, I am toast."
Brady might go easy on a woman, but he'd definitely come down hard on a guy!
"Oliver, what are you saying? You don't wanna go through with it?" Lilian, failing to charm him, felt a bit grossed out.
She had everything set up, just waiting for the hacker to play the video.
If Oliver bailed, she'd lose contact with the hacker.
Plus, Lilian was scared of Brady finding out, so she kept pushing Oliver. If things went south, he could take the fall.
After a pause, Lilian softened her tone to sway Oliver, "Oliver, you really wanna back out? Let Violet win? Let her laugh at you?"
"Shut up." Oliver hated being called a coward. He gritted his teeth and spat out, "You don't need to push me. I'll do what I promised."
"Oliver, this isn't just about keeping a promise to me. It's about getting your own revenge, right?" Lilian, seeing Oliver's resolve, relaxed and giggled.
Oliver glanced at Lilian, feeling a bit irritated.
He was scared but couldn't admit it.
A man's pride was everything. So, Oliver kept quiet and waited until the show was almost over. Then he stepped outside to call the hacker, urging him to play the video ASAP.
