Chapter 1041 I'm Afraid He Has Ambitious Intentions, Wanting the Entire Hart Family, That Would Be Troublesome
Inside the bedroom.
Emily lay on her pillow, quietly sobbing. Elodie sat behind her, gently rubbing her back. "Emily, don't be upset. If it's over, it's over."
This time, Elodie didn't want to take Austin's side.
Initially, she had a good impression of Austin. He was young, well-educated, had a good job, and was honest and kind to Emily.
She thought it would be fine to entrust Emily to him.
But after what he said about Emily earlier, she realized he wasn't a responsible man.
A responsible man wouldn't just blame others in such situations; he would handle the breakup maturely.
"I was so blind. I thought he was cultured and reasonable, not someone who would be so bitter and clingy," Emily said, biting her finger and crying. "And nothing happened between me and Lucien! If he hadn't spiked my drink, Lucien wouldn't have taken me away."
Emily's eyes reddened again as she spoke.
She looked incredibly pitiful.
Violet knocked and entered, seeing Emily half-lying on the bed, crying. She sighed silently and walked over. "Emily, don't be sad."
"Yeah, Emily, please don't cry. Your dad probably won't let you keep seeing him anyway. Just think of it as a bad dream," Elodie said, unable to bear seeing her precious daughter cry. It hurt her heart.
"I'm just afraid Dad will listen to him," Emily said, knowing her father's thoughts.
He always wanted a well-educated son-in-law to show off.
Emily lifted her tear-streaked face and said.
"He won't. I'll talk to him," Elodie sighed.
Violet sat down next to Emily and said, "Emily, there's something I need to tell you."
Emily wiped her tears and asked, "What is it?"
"Your dad just agreed to give Austin a very expensive Park Avenue apartment," Violet said slowly. "And he did it willingly."
Emily was stunned, her red eyes showing a hint of shock. Elodie was equally surprised.
Though their family was wealthy, it was still shocking to give Austin a valuable Park Avenue apartment just because of a breakup.
Didn't that mean her dad acknowledged Austin as the victim and her as the perpetrator?
Emily couldn't stand it. She bit her lip, her voice trembling. "How could he do this?"
"Giving him such an expensive apartment means admitting I'm the one at fault. But I did nothing wrong!"
"Emily, what do you plan to do about this?" Violet asked, not wanting to give her any advice.
This involved a Park Avenue apartment, and any suggestion could complicate things further.
Emily lowered her head, her eyes dark and intense, like a fire burning inside. Her fingers gripped the bedsheet tightly. "What can I do? I can't break up with him fast enough. If he gets the apartment, so be it."
Elodie agreed. Money and property were minor issues. She never wanted that man near her daughter again. "Consider it a lesson learned, though the price is high."
"A Park Avenue apartment is nothing. Our family can earn more in the future. But that man needs to go," Emily said through gritted teeth.
Violet looked at her with a serious expression. She felt this matter wasn't so simple.
If Austin could take the apartment and leave, it wouldn't be a big deal.
But if he had bigger ambitions, aiming for the entire Hart family, it would be trouble.
"I'm going to drop his class. I won't attend his lectures anymore," Emily said suddenly, realizing something.
"Do you want me to handle it for you? You don't have to face him and feel awkward," Violet suggested.
Emily nodded. "Yes, please, Violet."
"No problem," Violet replied.
