Chapter 23 Grandma Calls to Push for Marriage and Grandchildren
Brady dreaded receiving calls from his grandmother. Whenever she called, it was always for the same reason – to push for marriage and grandchildren.
He found it extremely bothersome. However, despite his headache, Brady still held great respect for his grandmother. After his assistant signaled that they had arrived at the designated floor, Brady answered the call.
The phone connected, and on the other end was his grandmother, who was currently in the Hall family's mansion garden, playing with a golden retriever.
She immediately began to intentionally hint at the prospect of having a precious grandson who could give her a great-grandchild. "Brady, last night I had a dream. Can you guess what it was?"
Brady chuckled softly, knowing exactly what his grandmother dreamt about. "Grandma, I'm sure you had a beautiful dream."
In reality, he didn't need to guess what his grandmother dreamt about. She caressed the little golden retriever in her arms, her face overflowing with affection, as she said with a gentle smile, "Yes, indeed. I did have a beautiful dream. In my dream...you brought home a lovely and beautiful wife, and she even gave birth to twin babies!"
Whenever his grandmother thought about the two adorable and chubby dragon and phoenix twin babies in her dream, she would be in high spirits the whole day. If only that dream were true. She really wanted to hold the dragon and phoenix twins in her arms.
But Brady furrowed his brow deeply upon hearing this. As expected, she was pushing for marriage and grandchildren again, and now it had turned into twin babies. Brady couldn't help but admire his grandmother's imagination. Even he himself didn't know if he could have twins, but she had dreamed them up for him.
"Grandma, your dream is indeed beautiful," Brady regained his composure and echoed his grandmother's words.
His grandmother knew that he was just placating her again. Her face of kindness instantly turned into a hint of sadness, and her voice began to carry a weeping tone as she acted, "Hmph...I'm just unlucky. I can only dream. I want to hold the dragon and phoenix twins, but I can't hold anything. I can only hold them in my dreams. Don't you think I'm pitiful, my dear?"
"My good sisters... Every one of them has great-grandchildren now. Every time we gather, I feel like a lonely person sitting there, watching them happily hold their great-grandchildren, enjoying the joy of family reunion."
"The bitterness in my heart...just thinking about it makes me want to cry." As she spoke, tears began to flow.
She intentionally depicted herself as particularly pitiful.
Listening to all of this through the phone, Brady couldn't help but give in. "Grandma...as for a girlfriend...if I find someone I like, I will bring her home. It's just that the Hall family is still unstable now, and I don't have the time or energy to look for a woman."
"You always say that the Hall family is unstable, but finding a girlfriend or wife doesn't have anything to do with managing the Hall family, right?" As soon as this matter was mentioned, his grandmother transitioned from theatrical sobbing to anger, and began reprimanding him, "If you bring your precious girlfriend to our Hall family, I will definitely treat her well. You don't need to worry. You should focus on your career and manage the Hall family. In the Family Empire, I'll take care of your little wife for you. I will dote on her and ensure she doesn't suffer any grievances. How does that sound?"
Brady: "..."
He couldn't find a way to refuse his grandmother.
Brady: "Grandma... I will consider this matter. I have a few things to attend to right now, but I will come back and spend time with you when I have free time."
In a rare turn of events, Brady finally started to think about having a girlfriend, and his grandmother didn't rush him. At least now he was somewhat wavering, so he responded, "Alright, I'll consider it. Grandma, just wait for me!"
"I understand," Brady felt a headache coming on due to her insistence and raised his hand to massage his forehead. "Grandma, there's nothing else for now. I'll hang up."
"Okay, bye-bye." Grandma hung up the phone, happily carrying her beloved dog and continuing her stroll in the garden.
Violet returned to JK Company with Max.
They started preparing for the meeting.
Laura, who had intentionally brought her down before, saw her leaving for the conference room alongside Mr. Green, feeling jealous as she clenched her fists and stomped heavily on the floor beneath her feet.
That little bitch really annoys people.
She had never disliked another woman before.
Violet was the first.
Laura stood near the conference room, filled with anger and jealousy. Another designer who had a good relationship with her approached and asked, " Laura, the meeting is about to start. Why are you still standing here?"
"What else can I do?" Laura let go of her fingers and gritted her teeth, saying angrily, "It's all because of that little bitch. We female designers didn't try to seduce Mr. Green when we were initially hired by JK, did we?"
"That little bitch has only been here for two days, and she couldn't wait to seduce Mr. Green. You tell me, am I not angry?" Laura said indignantly.
That designer naturally sided with her and echoed, "She's just a slut. Look at her appearance, she thinks she can do whatever she wants because she's pretty."
Laura snorted, "What pretty? She's just a slut, a fox spirit."
"Ah, Laura, don't be angry. She's under your supervision now, right? Just trip her up a bit, so that she makes mistakes in her work. Then we can kick her out of JK. Let's see how she tries to seduce Mr. Green then?" the designer suggested.
Listening to this, Laura's narrow eyes instantly narrowed into a malicious line.
Yes, why didn't she think of this?
This little bitch is now studying under her!
