Chapter 686 What If There Really Are Ghosts

The young nun had never encountered such a commanding presence before, so she was overwhelmed by Brady's powerful aura, causing her heart to race with anxiety.

She shrank back, her eyes wide with nervousness as she looked at him.

Their church had a history spanning several centuries and had always enjoyed a good reputation.

However, in recent years, attendance had dwindled, and the church was struggling financially, almost to the point of closing down, if not for the Devereux family's continued support.

So, they couldn't betray their benefactors.

The young nun stood there, trembling, determined not to reveal anything.

"Sir, we really don't know the person you're looking for, and there's no one here."

Brady's lips curled slightly as he continued, "That's alright, may I come in for a look?"

"Uh?" The young nun was at a loss.

Her plain face showed her fear and uncertainty, not knowing how to refuse him.

After a moment, she said, "Sir, we're not open to visitors right now."

"Really? I seem to recall that your church is open at this time. Are you just refusing me?" Brady said as he forcefully walked in.

As he entered, his bodyguards followed suit.

The young nun, who had always lived a sheltered life in the mountains, was so frightened by this display of power that she didn't know what to say.

All she could do was turn and run to the priest's room, hoping to get him to handle the situation.

She had no idea how to deal with a man like this on her own.

While the young nun went to get help, Brady and his bodyguards began searching the church. Eileen, who had received a tip-off, hadn't expected Brady to find her so quickly.

This made her anxious; she couldn't miss the chance to rescue Lilian, so she couldn't let Brady catch her this time.

She quickly grabbed Juniper, who had been confined in a small room in the church's backyard, and dragged her into the depths of the forest.

The forest was vast; she didn't believe Brady could find them there.

Eileen forcefully pulled Juniper deeper into the forest as the sky darkened. The trees cast shifting shadows, and birds occasionally flew overhead, their cries piercing the eerie silence.

The forest's atmosphere grew more sinister. Although Juniper didn't believe in ghosts, this time felt different, especially being dragged into such a remote forest by Eileen.

Surrounded by towering trees and dense underbrush, she feared getting lost if she tried to run.

And with the forest's creepy vibe, what if there really were ghosts?

Juniper was terrified. As Eileen dragged her into the forest, she deliberately let a bracelet slip off her wrist and tossed it into the bushes when Eileen wasn't looking.

The bracelet was pink and stood out against the green foliage.

This way, if they came looking for her, they could roughly determine her location.

Juniper continued to discreetly drop her bracelets. Luckily, she liked wearing jewelry and usually had several bracelets on her wrist.

As she walked, she silently prayed for James and Ethan to come rescue her quickly. She didn't want to die in this forest.

After about half an hour, Eileen finally stopped under a tree, too tired to continue.

She threw Juniper aside and leaned against the tree to rest.

Meanwhile, back at the church, Brady was searching for Juniper. When the priest came out to meet him, Brady ignored him. He knew the church had been supported by the Devereux family for years.

The priest wouldn't betray Eileen.

So, he didn't ask many questions and let his bodyguards continue the search.

He made small talk with the priest, but their conversation was interrupted when a bodyguard came running from the backyard.

"Mr. Hall, there's a car belonging to Eileen in the backyard, but she's not there."
