Chapter 133 What Exactly Is Your Relationship with Brady?

As their sleek black car smoothly turned from the street into the mansion's driveway, Loraine and Leana inside caught sight of Violet Devereux.

Loraine's pretty brow furrowed in an instant, and she complained to Leana beside her, "What a nuisance, so stubborn. Wasn't she a socialite strutting around New York? Why does she have to stoop so low as to come to me every day?"

After Loraine finished venting, Leana's eyebrows raised in surprise, and upon hearing Loraine's comments, said, "You mean, she used to run in the socialite circles? I thought she was just an office worker?"

"She's in a clerical job now, but she was a Devereux daughter before. Rumor has it she was disowned by her fiancé over her reckless behavior and then cast out by the Devereux family. She's no longer one of the Devereuxs," Loraine explained while instructing the driver, "Uncle Road, drive faster, don't stop here."
Uncle Rod glanced at Violet Devereux, who waited ahead, and said, "Sure thing, Miss."

Leana suddenly cut him off, "Wait, Uncle Rod, stop the car and let her in."

"Do you know her? Why would you want her to come in?" Loraine Plahn was puzzled. Violet had caused a serious allergic reaction for Loraine before, nearly leading to disaster.

Right, she had missed a crucial job the next day because the swelling hadn't completely gone down.

The thought alone was infuriating.

That job had been important, and as a result, she was lambasted online for being pretentious, not showing up, and accused of acting like a diva.

Annoying, isn't it?

"She was at Brady's apartment yesterday, and I didn't like it," Leana recalled how this woman was so boldly hanging around Brady Hall's apartment, feeling both jealous and angered. "I think she's trying to use her charm on Brady, and I won't allow that to happen."

"Oh, that's why?" Understanding dawned on Loraine, and she immediately instructed Uncle Rod, "Uncle Rod, slow down a bit when you get near her, and I'll have her come to the villa."

Uncle Rod nodded, "Will do."

He then gently applied the brake, slowing the vehicle as he neared Violet, and came to a stop.

Loraine rolled down her window with an impatient look and called out to Violet waiting outside, "Hey, get in." After saying that, she wasn't interested in further conversation, rolling up the window and signaling Uncle Rod to continue driving.

Violet hurried after their car.

But cars move faster than people, and it took Violet a moment to catch up, breathless by the time she did. Loraine and Leana had just stepped out of the car.

Loraine had intended to invite Violet in for a talk, but Leana, as if wanting to put Violet on the spot, blocked her and asked directly, "You're Violet Devereux, right?"

Violet nodded towards Leana, recognizing her as the girl from Brady Hall's place.

"What exactly is your relationship with Brady Hall?" Leana wasted no time with subtleties, going straight to the point. "Don't tell me it's just a simple employee-boss relationship?"
When she asked, her tone was distinctly hostile.
As if Violet Devereux really had something going on with Brady Hall.
Violet's eyebrows knit together in an instant. "There's nothing between Mr. Hall and me," she stated plainly.

"Really? Nothing at all?" Leana didn't buy her story for a second, pressing her aggressively.

"Leana, I'm telling you, there's really nothing," Violet insisted, and then turned to Loraine Plahn, "Look, Loraine, I'm truly sorry about what happened last time, but could you spare me ten minutes? I have a proposal I'd like to discuss with you." Time was of the essence for Violet, and she hadn't been waiting patiently to chat about Brady Hall — she was there to negotiate a deal for a bridal gown order.

Loraine had no patience for wedding dress talk and shot her an impatient glance, "Did I not make myself clear last time? I am not interested in any collaboration with your JK designers."
