Chapter 696 You Don't Need to Get Involved

"Violet, no matter what happens, I've got your back," Violet said, her voice thick with emotion as she reached out and squeezed Ava's hand.

"I'll go with you this afternoon."

Violet felt a wave of gratitude. "Thanks."

"We're family, no need to thank me," Ava replied with a warm smile. After a moment, she asked, "Got any plans on how to handle this?"

"Yeah, when I was with the Devereux family, Eileen used to abuse me. My mom took photos as evidence and kept them."

Thankfully, she hadn't destroyed those painful photos when she left the Devereux family.

Otherwise, with the mess Eileen was stirring up now, she'd have no way to fight back.

"Did they really treat you that badly?" Ava asked, her heart aching.

"It's all in the past. I don't want to think about it," Violet said, not wanting to dredge up those nightmare memories.

If she could avoid remembering, she would.

"Alright, you don't need to think about those things. From now on, the Hall family is your family."

"Okay."

At 1:30 PM.

James woke up from his coma to find Juniper standing by his bed. He opened his eyes and saw Juniper, thinking he was dreaming. He rubbed his eyes, but she didn't disappear.

So, he wasn't dreaming?

James was instantly overjoyed and tried to sit up, but his body was weak from just waking up. As soon as he moved, his chest hurt, and Helen quickly held him down, saying, "James, don't move. The doctor said you can't move around."

James glanced at Helen, a bit angry, and pushed her away.

Helen felt hurt but didn't want to upset him further. His health couldn't take any more stress.

She stood silently to the side, feeling sad.

Juniper and Ethan, seeing this, first comforted Helen before sitting by James's bed. Ethan said, "Dad, don't worry. Juniper is back. Brady and Violet saved her."

James nodded and, with difficulty, held Juniper's hand. "Juniper, I'm just glad you're okay."

"Dad, I'm fine. You need to rest," Juniper said softly, adjusting his blanket. She scolded him lightly, "You need to listen to the doctor from now on."

"I know. I won't do it again," James said, his eyes moist with emotion.

Having Juniper back was all that mattered.

"Dad, about Violet, I won't mind anymore. Whether you give her 20% of the shares or however you want to make it up to her, I accept it," Juniper said, having gained a new perspective after everything that happened.

Family being together was the most important thing.

Besides, Ethan had explained everything to her. Helen was at fault.

If Helen hadn't deceived Evelyn, as Ethan said, she might not have been born at all.

Ethan would have been an illegitimate child.

"What did you just say? You accept her?" James looked at Juniper in shock.

Was he hearing things?

Otherwise, how could Juniper agree?

Juniper nodded, glancing at Helen standing sadly in the corner. She couldn't help but plead for her, "Dad, she's my sister. I accept it. And Mom won't mind either. Can you stop being mad at her?"

"Dad, please?"

James's face tightened, and he didn't respond. He couldn't forgive Helen for what she had done so easily.

So, he said coldly, "Juniper, I'm glad you accept Violet as your sister. But as for your mother, that's between us adults. You don't need to get involved."

He didn't think he could ever forgive Helen.
