Chapter 606 Severing the Mother-Son Relationship
Later, Ava finally woke up from her coma. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw her son standing by the bed.
Even though Ava's body was still weak, her eyes brightened a bit. She lifted her hand, which was attached to an IV, and gently grasped her son's hand. Her voice was weak but very gentle as she said, "Brady, I knew it. You wouldn't leave me."
She knew this tactic worked. Whenever she got hurt, they would all rally around her.
Brady didn't say anything, just looked at her coldly.
His relationship with Ava had never been close, but that didn't stop him from respecting her and wanting to love her before she did all those things.
It had already exceeded his tolerance.
In this world, parental love was great, and he wouldn't deny that. But thinking from another perspective, he was also Nicole and Henry's father.
If he couldn't protect his own children, what was the point of talking about parental love?
"Brady? Why aren't you saying anything?" Ava noticed his stern face and guessed he was unhappy.
But she didn't care. She was his mother.
What could he do to her?
Ava continued gently, "Brady, spend more time with Mom, okay?"
At this moment, Brady finally spoke. But before he did, he gently pushed her hand away, placing it back on the bed. He said coldly, "Mom, those news articles online were your doing, weren't they?"
He had already been tolerant enough, retreating step by step since Ava hurt Nicole.
"How could that be? What news?" Ava's eyes flickered with panic as she pretended to be unaware.
"It doesn't matter if you don't admit it. Once you recover, go back to America." Brady's eyes narrowed as he said calmly, "Mom, there's something I need to say, and this will be the last time. I won't repeat it, so listen carefully."
"If you cause trouble again, I will publicly announce that we are no longer mother and son." Brady enunciated each word clearly.
Ava's already pale face turned even whiter, as if dusted with flour.
In her shock and anger, she ignored her post-surgery weakness and screamed, "Are you bullying your mother?"
As she screamed, her freshly stitched wound tore open.
Blood seeped out.
Brady noticed, his eyes darkening further. Without a word, he pressed the call button for the doctor.
"Why did you press it? If we're no longer mother and son, what's the point? I don't want your help. None of you care about me." Ava cried irrationally.
She cried dramatically, befitting an actress.
Before the doctor arrived, she ignored the pain and bleeding from her wound, trying to pull out the IV. Brady held her down, losing his temper with his mother for the first time. "Do you want to die? Then I'll tell the doctor not to come. You can waste away here alone, how about that? Oh, and your fans, your celebrity status, this family, including us—you can give it all up. You can just wither away here! I'll pretend I never had a mother like you!"
Brady's anger was quite shocking. Ava was stunned and started crying genuinely this time.
She couldn't really waste away in this wretched hospital room.
"If you don't cause trouble, we'll all pamper you. But you insist on acting like this. What do you expect us to do?" Brady released her hand, his eyes red, and said coldly, "Then we'll all give up on you. I know you can live well without us."
After saying that, Brady didn't care if she would cause more trouble or attempt suicide again. He strode out of the room.
As he stepped out, the doctors rushed in with emergency equipment.
Brady glanced at them, not wanting to say anything, and walked away coldly.
