Chapter 859 Did Violet Want to Go to His House That Much
"Mr. Voss, please, stop. This is my business. Brady wasn't always like this. He used to treat me well. Maybe he was just really mad last night. I don't know why he acted that way," Violet said, trying to defend Brady.
Darian knew she wouldn't leave Brady right away, so he took a moment to calm down. He slowly walked up to her, knelt on one knee, placed a hand on the armrest of her office chair, and said earnestly, "Violet, I know this is tough to hear, but I need to tell you, Brady doesn't love you."
"A guy who truly loves you wouldn't yell at you or tell you to leave over something like that. He'd be there for you, offering warmth and care when you're going through tough times. So, please, think about what I'm saying and don't be so stubborn."
"Honestly, you don't need to worry about not having anyone else if you leave him. There are plenty of people who would,"
Darian hinted softly, his eyes locked on Violet with a burning intensity.
He wished he could just take her in his arms right then and there.
"Mr. Voss, I know you mean well, but my mind is a mess right now. I don't think he wants to abandon me," Violet shook her head, biting her lip and looking somewhat dejected.
"Violet, don't be sad. I'm here," Darian said gently. "Pull yourself together. Don't let someone like Brady make you feel this way. If he can treat you like this once, what's stopping him from doing it again? He'll still tell you to leave. You need to see the truth."
"Thank you. I'll think it through," Violet said, taking a tissue and pretending to dab at her eyes.
"Alright, take your time. Those who care about you will always wait for you," Darian said, standing up and noticing the pile of tissues on her desk. He didn't mind at all and helped clean up the mess, wiping the area with a fresh tissue.
As he tidied up, he caught a glimpse of her half-finished design sketch.
His eyes sharpened instantly.
Even though it wasn't complete, the half-finished design was already impressive.
Violet was indeed someone like him.
They both had exceptional talent in design.
If they stayed together, they would undoubtedly be a perfect match.
Darian thought deeply, feeling a surge of emotion. He desperately wanted Violet by his side.
They could study various designs together, embrace each other, and kiss each other.
Have children together.
The more Darian thought about it, the more he felt that what he desired was within reach. His suspicion that Brady might have acted deliberately last night faded as he saw Violet's pitiful and distressed state.
"Mr. Voss, do you need anything else?" Violet asked, noticing he wasn't leaving.
"No, I just wanted to check on you," Darian replied, snapping back to reality. "Also, about the design competition, do you have any inspiration yet?"
"Yeah, I do."
"That's great. I believe you can win," Darian said softly.
Violet continued to feign distress, nodding and wiping her eyes.
After a pause, she said, "Mr. Voss, you're right. I can't keep being so down."
"Good, take your time to figure things out."
Violet looked up, her eyes sparkling as if summoning Darian. "Mr. Voss, how about having lunch together later? I haven't officially treated you since we signed the contract. It's overdue."
"Violet, you don't need to be so formal with me," Darian said, though he was pleased she was starting to focus on him.
Was this a good start?
"No, Mr. Voss, you will help us at JK through tough times. I must treat you to a meal," Violet said, looking at him steadily.
Darian almost thought Violet wanted to be with him.
So his eyes brightened, and he smiled slightly, saying, "In that case, I accept your invitation for lunch and will help you with your troubles."
"What do you want to eat?" Violet asked, seizing the opportunity.
"I'm not picky. What about you? What do you like?" He wasn't particular about food.
Violet pretended to think, saying, "I'm tired of the restaurants outside. I'd rather have homemade food, so I can't think of anything right now."
"Let me think about it."
After a moment, Darian suddenly said, "How about this? If you don't mind, you can come to my place. I can cook."
"Really?" Violet asked, feigning surprise.
"Yes, would you like to come?" He was worried she might not want to.
Violet knew he had taken the bait, but she couldn't show eagerness. So she hesitated and remained silent for a while before saying, "Alright."
Darian was delighted she agreed, and he couldn't help but smile, saying, "I'll be waiting for you."
"Okay."
"Then I won't disturb your work," Darian said and left.
Outside, Darian was initially happy, but after a few steps, his smile faded.
Did Violet agree too quickly? Did she want to go to his place?
Or did she have some other motive?
