Chapter 549 Want to Join the Hall Family? You Better See If You Can Survive First
In less than half an hour, Ava and Olivia brought the exquisite desserts to the living room.
The two placed the desserts in front of Matilda and Brady. Ava picked out a piece of white cake and said, "Brady, try my cooking. I haven't made this in a long time."
"I don't eat this." Brady refused to take it.
Ava continued, "Just have a bite, will you?"
Brady slightly lowered his gaze, knowing he couldn't refuse. He glanced at Matilda beside him, then took the cake. Under Ava's watchful eyes, he took a couple of bites.
Matilda, seeing his look, knew what to do next.
After finishing the cake, the drug's effect didn't kick in immediately.
The group continued chatting before Brady started feeling the effects, his head becoming dizzy. He said, "I'm not feeling well. I'll go upstairs to rest for a bit."
"I'll help you." Ava quickly stood up to support him.
Olivia followed closely behind.
Matilda sat quietly, watching them help Brady upstairs. Once they were up, she immediately called the private doctor, asking him to arrive within five minutes.
Then she slowly went upstairs.
In the bedroom, Ava left Olivia to take care of Brady.
But as soon as she came out, Matilda was already there, intending to go in.
Ava immediately stopped her, smiling gently. "Mom, Brady isn't feeling well. Let him sleep. We shouldn't disturb him."
Matilda said, "What? I can't go in and check on him?"
"No, I mean, he's not feeling well. We shouldn't disturb him," Ava continued to block the way.
Matilda angrily said, "Move aside. I want to check on Brady."
"Mom." Ava wasn't going to move.
"Ava, are you ignoring me? Or should I call Grayson and have him ask you to move so I can check on Brady?"
Ava's face stiffened, she said, "Of course not. Go ahead."
Matilda snorted, and immediately pushed the door open.
Inside, she saw Olivia undressing.
Matilda immediately screamed, "Ms. White, what are you doing? Have you no shame?"
Olivia, already felt humiliated doing this. Being caught by Matilda made her want to jump out the window.
"Ms. White, put your clothes on immediately. What's going on here?" Matilda continued angrily.
"Matilda, I'm sorry." Olivia, blushing with shame, quickly put on her dress and hurriedly left the bedroom with her head down.
As she left, Matilda said directly, "Ms. White, Brady is getting married. Stop liking him. Also, please move out soon. Violet will be angry if she finds out."
Matilda's tone wasn't harsh, but every word felt like a knife to Olivia's heart.
If she stayed any longer, she'd lose all dignity.
"Got it, Matilda, I'll move out immediately," Olivia replied quicklyand then ran out.
Matilda glanced back at her. She immediately closed the door and waited for the private doctor to arrive.
Once the door was closed, Olivia burst into tears. "Ava, I really can't stay any longer. Don't try to persuade me." No matter how much Olivia wanted to marry Brady, she couldn't be this shameless.
After saying this in one breath, Olivia turned to her room to pack her things.
Ava was furious.
