Chapter 873 Dear, I Think I Am Blind

In the aftermath of Jade's kidnapping, Darian managed to escape for now, but Brady was worried he might go after the unconscious Jade again.

To ensure her safety, he arranged for several bodyguards to watch over Jade's ICU room day and night.

He planned to keep the bodyguards there until the international police arrived to investigate Darian.

Violet had always admired Jade. When she heard about Jade's severe injuries and hospitalization, she made a point to buy some flowers and visit her after returning from the police station.

In the ward, Jade lay there with her eyes closed, her face pale and gaunt.

The only sign of life was the faint mist on her breathing mask. From a distance, one might think she had already passed away.

Violet quietly approached the bed, holding the flowers, and carefully placed them in the vases on the bedside table.

"Honey, did the doctors say when Jade might wake up?" Violet asked Brady after arranging the dewy, vibrant flowers.

Brady sighed softly, "They don't know. She's been out for a while, and she hasn't eaten much these past few days. Her body's weak. If she hadn't been in good health before, she might not have made it."

Jade had been held at Darian's place all this time without any food.

How could anyone do such a thing?

Violet's eyes darkened with anger, her voice growing more indignant, "How could he do that? She was his mentor!"

Brady gently patted Violet's head, trying to soothe her, "Don't get upset. He's not worth it."

"Honey, I feel so blind. It's my fault all this happened," Violet said, looking at the frail Jade with a pained expression.

In truth, she blamed herself for everything.

If she hadn't been so ambitious, none of this would have happened.

"Don't blame yourself. This isn't your fault. You just happened to cross paths with a scoundrel," Brady continued to comfort her.

"As long as Jade is okay."

Violet nodded softly, "Yeah." She was relieved that Jade was alive; otherwise, she would never forgive herself.

After a pause, she asked, "Honey, does Jade have any family? We haven't seen anyone come to visit her since we brought her here."

Brady shook his head. "She has no family. She dedicated her life to art and spent her later years in seclusion."

"Then I'll take care of her," Violet decided, wanting to ease her guilt.

"You don't have to exhaust yourself. I'll arrange for a good nurse to look after her," Brady said, worried that Violet would overextend herself with work, caring for their baby, and now Jade.

Violet shook her head stubbornly, "No, I need to do this. Otherwise, I won't be able to live with myself."

Brady also felt responsible, but he couldn't leave the company.

He could only say, "Alright, but don't overwork yourself."

"I know," Violet replied.

She knew her limits and would rest if needed.

Meanwhile, Darian returned to his apartment, only to find the living room in shambles, courtesy of Brady's bodyguards. A mix of sarcasm and anger twisted his lips.

He had been too naive, falling for their trap so easily.

He wouldn't forget this.
