Chapter 718 Do You Want to Survive in the Stanley Family

"What's the matter? Worried Grandpa's gonna come after me for hitting her? Or you think she dares to snitch?" Colleen spat, her voice icy and sharp.

She was beyond fed up with Elio's side of the family.

She wanted nothing more than to tear Diana apart.

"There were a ton of people here today. Her face is all swollen. Even if she doesn't dare to say anything, someone with an agenda will use this against us," Arthur said, more composed than Colleen.

They didn't need to resort to violence to deal with Elio's family.

Arthur's words made Colleen pause.

She let go, then shot a fierce glare at the pitiful-looking Diana. "You're lucky today. Don't let me catch you next time," she snapped.

With that, Colleen stood up abruptly, her high heels clicking as she stormed out.

In an instant, the large ancestral hall was left with just the two of them.

Arthur turned his gaze to the still-crying Diana, his eyes deep and contemplative.

Diana was nothing but trouble, especially since Elio had her serving their grandfather under the guise of filial piety.

But really, it was just a ploy to control their grandfather.

Their grandfather had a soft spot for Diana.

If Diana sweet-talked their grandfather enough, asking for shares or something, he might just waver.

After all, without Kade, she was struggling to survive in the Stanley family.

Their grandfather was a soft-hearted man and would not leave her with nothing, struggling in the Stanley family.

Arthur thought deeply for a moment before striding over to Diana.

His voice was calm and emotionless. "Stop crying. Do you want to survive in the Stanley family?"

Diana looked up, her tear-streaked face showing surprise as she stared at the handsome, cold man in front of her.

Was he offering to help her?

Or was he just like Kade's family, using her?

Diana figured it was probably the latter.

With that thought, she bit her lip and nodded slightly.

"Then choose a different side. I won't treat you badly. I could even send you abroad. Think about it."

Diana was taken aback, somewhat tempted by his words.

If she could, she wanted to leave.

But then she remembered Kade's mom's threats about the orphanage she stayed at.

She couldn't bear to abandon the director and the children there, as well as her old friends.

So, despite her temptation, she lowered her head, her voice barely a whisper. "Arthur, thank you for your kindness."

Arthur's eyes darkened for a moment.

Was she refusing to side with him?

Arthur's gaze turned icy. "Since you've chosen Elio, don't blame us for being enemies in the future."

Diana bit her lip, her mind a tangled mess. She hadn't chosen anyone.

She didn't want to choose anyone. She had no choice.

Everyone was just using her as a tool.

If she chose Arthur, Kade's parents would go after the orphanage director.

And her current family wouldn't back her up.

What else could she do?

"Take care of yourself." Arthur had no time to waste on her. He turned and left, his voice cold.

As Diana watched him leave, she knew that from the moment she refused to side with him, they could only be enemies.

Thinking of this, Diana couldn't help but cry again.

How could she escape the Stanley family?

Outside the ancestral hall, Arthur walked out, a bit angry.

He almost bumped into Brady, who was coming to see him.

Brady stopped in his tracks, glanced at Arthur's slightly angry face, then looked towards the hall.

"What's wrong? Who pissed you off?" Brady asked.

Arthur's expression was dark.

Just thinking about Diana's uncooperative behavior made him anxious.

He pulled out two cigarettes, handing one to Brady and putting the other in his mouth.

He lit it, exhaling a thin ring of smoke. "Elio arranged for her to serve Grandpa. Grandpa knows about her pitiful background and has always been sympathetic. If she keeps sweet-talking him, Grandpa might just soften and hand over the remaining 30% of his shares."

It was possible.
