Chapter 100 Thomas is in Trouble
As if they had seen each other somewhere. She swept away the strange thought in her mind, squatting down gently and saying, “Alright, go ahead, ask your question.”
"Why do you want to go against the DeRoss family?" Keith spoke each word deliberately, each one as sharp as a blade.
Haley was completely stunned. This child was her savior, so when she encountered him, her heart was filled with joy. But now, as her joy disappeared, she finally noticed the icy coldness in the child's gaze directed at her. This was not at all the look a four-year-old child should have.
Her scarlet lips tightened, and she spoke softly, "How do you know about the DeRoss family?"
"Emily, she is my mother." Keith's voice was icy, his tone increasingly indifferent, and the coldness between his brows deepened.
He remained calm, but Haley felt like she had been struck by lightning. She gasped, her voice hoarse, “You are Emily’s biological son?”
Keith nodded, his voice low, "Because of you, my mother is now in the hospital. Are you proud of yourself?"
Haley looked at the child in front of her, nearly as tall as Todd, and a storm surged in her heart. This child looked no more than four or five years old. But four or five years ago, Emily wasn’t pregnant at all. How is it possible to suddenly have an additional child out of the blue?
Haley struggled to speak, “How old are you?”
"I'm not obligated to share that with you," Keith's gaze turned cold, "You better stop meddling, or else you'll pay for your actions."
His eyes pierced through Haley without mercy. After going through so many ups and downs, Haley had long forged an impenetrable body. For the past four years, she hadn't feared anyone's gaze.
But now, like a thousand arrows piercing her heart, pain tore open her chest. She covered her heart and small beads of sweat formed on her forehead.
"I won't stop until I have what is rightfully mine," Haley said with a calm tone, her brows furrowed, "Child, this is an affair between adults, you'd better not get involved."
"My mother's affairs are my own." Keith glanced at her and turned to walk away.
Haley's heart felt as if a piece of flesh had been torn away, as if something extremely important had been taken from her. She stared at Keith's back; her face filled with mixed emotions.
This child must truly be Emily's biological son, given how fiercely he defended her. If this child was around four and a half years old, then he would have been born when she was still locked up in the DeRoss family's warehouse.
There was no way she could have known about Emily's pregnancy and childbirth. But why hadn't she heard about Emily having a child during all this time she had been back in Cuenca?
Furthermore, if Emily had a son, why would the DeRoss family still want her to marry into the Winston family? Could a family like the Winston family really accept a woman who had given birth to a child?
