Chapter 752
"Because he's just an ordinary person who wants to live an ordinary life," Haley said slowly. "Only when the Black Gang completely disappears can he be truly free."
Isabella adjusted the brim of her hat. "Alright, I'll believe you for now. When do we take action?"
"The plan needs to be discussed in person. In a few days, Leonardo should sneak out to meet you, and you'll know then," Haley replied.
Isabella tore the document into pieces, poured coffee over it to blur the text, and then threw the fragments into the trash.
After doing all this, Isabella got up and left discreetly.
"Mommy, did it work?" Owen came over and asked mysteriously.
Haley patted his head. "I think it worked. You all did great today, especially Angela. Your performance was excellent. It was because you played so well that I had the chance to invite the Queen for coffee. So, what do you want to eat tonight?"
Angela blinked her big eyes and thought for a moment. "I want to eat barbecue."
Haley smiled. "The barbecue here isn't authentic. I'll take you to the supermarket to buy some beef and make barbecue for you myself."
Owen licked his lips. "I haven't had grilled beef in a long time. My mouth is watering just thinking about it."
"It's getting late. Come, let's go shopping first," Haley said, leading the kids out of the café.
As she was putting the kids in the car and walking to the driver's seat, she saw a familiar figure standing by the wide road.
Haley's eyes narrowed sharply, then she bent down and got into the car.
She looked through the car window, her gaze gradually darkening. 'What is Ava doing in Country Y?' she wondered.
"Mommy, what's wrong?" Todd leaned forward and asked.
Haley snapped out of her thoughts and smiled. "Nothing, let's go shopping first."
She glanced at Ava standing by the roadside one more time before driving to the supermarket. While the kids were picking out snacks, she called Thomas.
"Hello, Haley. How's it going?" Thomas replied.
Haley lowered her voice. "I saw Ava just now. Is she here to see you?"
"No way, I haven't been in touch with her for a long time. She must be here on a business trip. Wait, I have another call coming in." Thomas glanced at the caller ID and immediately cursed, "Fuck, it's Ava. She's calling me! Haley, you and the kids stay outside for a while. I'll call you later."
Thomas hung up on Haley and waited a few seconds before leisurely answering Ava's call.
"You're in Country Y, right?" Ava's voice came through the phone. "I'm here too. Can we meet?"
Thomas replied coldly, "What does your being in Country Y have to do with me? Why should I meet up with you? If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up."
