Chapter 558
When Haley got out of the car, Ariana came up to her, saying dramatically, "Haley, it's been a few days, and you seem to have become even more beautiful! You look radiant, as if you’ve been nurtured by love. The presentation today will surely be a success!"
Haley remained silent. She felt that her personal relationships and work success were not necessarily linked.
"Isn't this the bride-to-be, Haley?" A mocking voice came from behind Haley.
Haley turned around to see Ava getting out of the car, her eyes flashing with a wicked gleam.
Ava walked over, crossed her arms, and said, "Haley, looks like you're still working the day before your wedding. It seems Ivan isn't sincere about you."
Haley remained calm, smiling slightly. "Speaking of the wedding, I suddenly remembered that I forgot to send you a wedding invitation."
Ava sneered and said, "I have no interest in attending the wedding."
"Thomas will be at the wedding," Haley said as she smirked. "Too bad, you probably won't get to see Thomas."
This hit a nerve with Ava, making her face flush with anger.
She didn’t even want to think about Thomas's name!
But Haley had deliberately mentioned his name to tease her.
Ava coldly said, "Alright, let's see if you'll still be smiling when the results are announced at the meeting."
With that, she turned and walked away, followed by Ariana and Eva.
"Haley, you're amazing!" Ariana admired, "Ava had been relying on the Lumi Group and Hollis's protection, so she’s been arrogant everywhere. It's the first time I've seen her face a setback."
Haley smirked and then headed toward the Vanguard Corporation meeting room.
This presentation mainly focused on chip design, and the members present were responsible for that. Craig Morris, the new regional president of Vanguard Corporation in Watertown, chaired the meeting.
"Thank you all for taking the time out of your busy schedules to attend the presentation of the first phase of results of the Vanguard Corporation." Craig said a few opening words before getting to the main point.
"The chip design of this project was a collaboration between Star Technical Company and the Lumi Group. Ms. DeRoss, Ms. Evans, who would like to report the results first?"
"I'll go first," Ava said, commanding her assistant to open the presentation script.
Ava looked at the screen and began her report methodically. "The chip framework was built using the traditional VerilogHDL language to construct modules, eventually forming a complete working model. All the modules were divided into numerous sections. The Lumi Group completed eighty percent and Star Technical Company completed the remaining twenty percent. Ms. DeRoss, please continue the report."
Ava smiled confidently as she sat back in her seat.
The people in the meeting room all smiled approvingly. Ava's design was innovative and unique. It was something they couldn't have come up with, no matter how hard they tried.
Meanwhile, Ariana's expression had turned sour. She was on the verge of angrily confronting Ava.
Ariana knew that everything in the Lumi Group's presentation had actually been written by Haley, who had worked hard burning the midnight oil. How dare Ava claim it as her work?
"There's no need to be angry." Haley patted Ariana's hand, lowering her voice calmly. "She was skilled to be able to steal the chip design plans from my computer."
Ariana couldn't stay as composed as Haley and asked, "What should we do now?"
Haley gave Ariana a reassuring look before turning her gaze toward Ava.
Ava met Haley's gaze fearlessly, her eyes filled with pride and arrogance.
Ava had stolen the achievements of Star Technical Technology because Haley insisted on opposing the Lumi Group.
"Ms. Evans, your speech was excellent." Haley lightly tapped her palm and said, "However, I have a few questions I would like to ask."
