Chapter 851
Brent came at Haley, swinging a steel pipe like he was in some action movie.
Bryan, not knowing what else to do, jumped in front of Haley, trying to play hero.
Brent just shrugged and shoved Bryan aside like he was nothing.
Bryan, being a skinny dude in his twenties, almost hit the ground from that push.
With a cold stare, Haley grabbed Brent's wrist and flipped him over her shoulder, slamming him down hard.
Brent was the boss of the workers. When he hit the ground, a bunch of them circled around.
Haley laughed, "Y'all wanna get arrested and spend a few nights in jail?"
These guys were just regular folks, trying to get by. Jail time would mess them up, so they backed off real quick.
"You've worked half a day. Go to the Lumi Group and get your half-day pay. Don't expect more," Haley said, cool as a cucumber. "If any of you got time this afternoon, help me take down the fences. You'll get paid the same as this morning."
The workers perked up at that. Putting up fences took forever, but taking them down? Easy peasy, done in an hour.
With just a few words, Haley had the workers sorted. Even Brent, who got slammed, didn't argue and went to get his guys moving.
"Haley, you're awesome," Bryan said, still in shock. "You know wrestling?"
"Just a bit, nothing special," Haley replied, pulling a document from her bag. "Here's my new resort plan. Check it out and see if it needs any tweaks. If it's good, we'll send it to the company and the relevant departments today, and start work tomorrow."
Bryan opened the document, and Lester and Maurice leaned in to take a look.
A few pages in, and they were all impressed.
"Ms. Deross, if we can transform the resort like this, it could rival those world-famous islands. The profits could beat the petrochemical project," Maurice said, excited.
Lester frowned, "But the investment will be huge, especially for the water projects. At least ten billion dollars."
"The Lumi Group's finance department is run by Hollis. No way they'll approve that kind of money," Bryan said, pursing his lips. "If we pull it off, it would be Lumi Group's most profitable project. But sadly..."
Haley smiled, "If Lumi Group won't invest, we'll find outside investors. No biggie."
She even thought about throwing in a few billion herself. With Ivan, the president of the Winston Group, planning it, and her overseeing it, success was pretty much guaranteed.
"Ms. Deross, leave the investment to me. I know some investors and can probably get at least three billion," Lester offered.
Haley nodded, "Lester, you handle the investment for now. Maurice, you're in charge of the construction site. Here's the plan: hire more workers and set up day and night shifts to speed things up."
Then she turned to Bryan, "Your job's crucial. You need to talk to the heads of Lumi Group's departments and get them on board with our project..."
Before Haley could finish, she suddenly felt dizzy and her mind went blank.
"Haley, what's wrong?" Bryan looked up, just in time to see Haley's eyes roll back as she collapsed.
At hospital, Haley lay on the bed, eyes closed, looking pale as a ghost.
