Chapter 237

“Ms. Emily, what brings you here?” the principal asked, offering her a glass of water with eager attentiveness.

Emily’s demeanor was calm as she replied, “I need to check the records for two of the students.”

Caught off guard, the principal answered, “It's the school policy to keep all our students' records confidential."

"Mr. Winston is considering bringing Owen back to school but wants to review his classmates' profiles first. I'm just taking a look, for Mr. Winston's sake. No one else needs to know, don’t worry," Emily said calmly, "Besides, what use would the Winston Group have for preschoolers' records?"

The principal felt a glimmer of hope when he heard this. The Winston family had only enrolled him in preschool for half a year and had already invested 30 million in the school.

With Owen withdrawn, the preschool had lost a significant benefactor overnight. If Owen were to return, surely the Winston Group would invest more money into the school.

It was a stroke of luck for the principal.

With this thought in mind, the principal quickly brought over the children's files. As she glanced through, Emily recognized some names from the previous class.

"I'll need the lists from all the 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes. Mr. Winston wants to choose the best one," she stated coolly.

The principal brought over all the class rosters. Emily scanned them quickly until her gaze settled on Class Nine.

Todd and Angela.

Haley's two little brats were in here. A smirk crept across Emily's face as she lazily pointed and said, "I'd like to see the detailed records of these two students."

With the prospect of investment money on his mind, the principal was naturally inclined to comply with her every request. He rummaged through the archives and finally unearthed the original registration forms.

Emily scrutinized the two papers, each line of text catching her attention. She paused when she reached the birthdates of the two kids. She was taken aback. These two children shared the exact same birthday with Owen and Keith.

Those kids, especially the girl, seemed barely over three. Their looks did not match up to their age at all.

Struggling to maintain her composure, Emily raised her eyes and asked, "Is it possible for a preschooler's age to be falsified?"

"Other details may have inaccuracies, but ages are typically accurate," explained the principal. "Kids differ significantly in behavior and speech, even with a month's difference in age. Our teachers can spot it at a glance."

"I see."

With that, Emily slowly exited the preschool, her mind spinning with the heavy implications of her discovery.

If Todd and Angela had both been born that night and were four years old, then that meant Haley had quadruplets that night.

Her first two were sons, followed by a set of fraternal twins. This meant she had quadruplets.

No wonder Haley’s bump was so massive back then. There were four of them all along.

Emily stood on the street corner, letting the cold wind whip through her hair.

Her mind kept replaying that night four years ago. After Haley gave birth to the first two, she locked the warehouse door, walked away, and set the place ablaze.
