Chapter 347
"Mommy, I've missed you so much!" Owen lunged into Haley's arms, clambering up and planting a kiss on her face.
Haley, her face smeared with saliva, gently put Owen down and smiled. "You can call me Mommy when it's just us, but with so many people here today, can you call me Haley?"
Owen, looking both disappointed and obedient, replied, "Okay, Haley."
Angela stepped out of the car, and as soon as Alfred had placed the little girl on the ground, she ran into Ivan's embrace.
His strong arms lifted her as he asked softly, "Missed Mr. Winston?"
Angela, clinging shyly to Ivan's neck, whispered in his ear, "I missed Daddy."
Ivan's normally stern heart melted instantly. If only she were his biological daughter.
"Mr. Winston."
Todd approached with a casual greeting.
Keith, who had been lingering on the outskirts, also stepped forward. He looked up at Haley and was about to say hello when suddenly a familiar voice sounded from behind.
"Keith, come here to Mom."
Emily stepped forward with a gentle smile painted on her face, yet the corners of her eyes betrayed anger and distortion that she could scarcely suppress. Keith and Owen were her sons; why should they act so affectionately towards Haley? That woman, Haley, why should she vie for everything that belonged to the Winston family? Emily would not allow such a thing to happen, not ever.
Approaching Keith, Emily squatted down and firmly gripped his shoulders, speaking softly, "Mommy's been looking for you for so long. Why are you standing by the door? It's windy tonight; let's go inside."
Knowing that Owen wouldn't give her a warm reception, Emily avoided looking at him from the start. She took Keith by the hand and led him toward the villa. Keith pursed his lips but did not resist.
"Stop."
Ivan's voice was cold.
"You may leave, but the child stays."
Emily felt a wave of dizziness from her fury, almost causing her to collapse.
She turned around, grinding her molars, and said, "Ivan, Keith is my son. Is it not permissible for me to take him inside?"
"There's a party tonight with business partners; we can't disclose matters about the children just yet. I'll have Alfred take some of the kids to the second floor," Ivan said indifferently, his tone neutral yet striking Emily like a slap in the face.
Standing in the cold wind, she felt a chill through her body.
Haley's expression turned colder as she held Owen's hand. Keith was clearly her son; how shamelessly could Emily utter such words in her presence? Did she really believe that abducting someone's son for four years made him hers?
"Haley, that hurts," Owen exclaimed, frowning.
Only then did Haley realize she had been clutching Owen's hand so tightly her grip had turned his fingers red? She quickly bent down to apologize, "I'm so sorry, Owen, so sorry..."
"Haley, you venomous woman!" Emily charged forward in a rush. "If you are angry, take it out on me, not my son! Owen, come over to me. Can't you see how Haley is pretending to be close to you only to hurt you on purpose? Come here, quickly!"
