Chapter 394
Todd pulled out his phone and snapped a picture of Dante's fading silhouette...
"What does Shura mean?" Owen asked once he had recovered, looking perplexed.
Keith shot him a look, "Did a P.E. teacher teach you English?"
Owen scratched his chin, feeling wronged. "Come on, Keith. You know I always get sleepy during English class. I just don't have the knack for languages. Is that my fault? Angela, Angela, tell him I'm right."
Angela spoke softly, "Shura is Dante—a character from a comic book series."
Owen was inwardly distraught. Angela knew what the word meant, and he was clueless…
No wonder Ivan wouldn't hand over the company to him. Was it because he was just not up to snuff?
Keith glanced at Todd and asked in a neutral tone, "Do you know the man with the mask who just passed by?"
Todd pocketed his phone, shaking his head, "No idea."
He really didn't know him; he had never met Dante in person, and he had only ever heard about him from K.
Dante wasn't a hacker, but something even more terrifying—a man with blood on his hands.
Just then, Haley came out of the hospital room. She took a lap around before she finally found the four kids in the corridor. As soon as she approached, Owen rushed over, looking pitiful. "Haley, am I really dumb?"
Haley laughed gently. "Owen, you're the smartest. How can you be dumb?"
"But Todd won't even call me by my name!" Owen blinked his large eyes, distressed, "He says I'm too dumb, that I'm not smart like him and not fit to be his brother! Wah, Haley, am I really that dumb?"
Todd was silent. What he'd said was the truth, so why did Owen's response sound so strange?
"Todd," Haley pulled him over, "Even though Owen may not be as smart as you..."
Owen gazed downheartedly. Was he really less bright than Todd?
"...he was indeed born before you, and that makes Owen your big brother," Haley said tenderly.
Owen then lifted his chin proudly, "Hehehe!"
Though Todd was reluctant, he obediently called out, "Keith."
Owen burst into laughter.
Haley couldn't help but smile, too. She said, "I'm taking Todd and Angela to preschool. What about you two, heading home or somewhere else?"
In line with her parenting approach, she would normally take Keith and Owen to preschool, too. But now, she had no say over the boys' upbringing, so these matters would have to be addressed slowly.
"I'll head to the company; Owen will go home," Keith said calmly, "Haley, could you give us a ride?"
Felix parked his car downstairs, and he had been waiting outside the hospital for a while. Yet, he wanted to spend just a little more time with Haley...
"Alright, first I'll take Owen home, then Todd and Angela to preschool, and finally Keith to work. That's the plan," she decided.
Haley left the hospital with the four children. Meanwhile, someone knocked on the door of Ivan's hospital room, and a man in a black suit stepped inside. He carried a formidable presence that was difficult to look straight at, and most striking of all was the silver mask on his face...
Ivan slowly closed the file he was looking at, and his lips curled into a mocking sneer, "I haven't come looking for you, yet you dare to seek me out..."
