Chapter 858
Owen was totally floored, tears welling up in his big, innocent eyes.
How could he see such coldness and disdain in his mom's eyes?
"Mom, do you hate me now?" Owen's voice shook, "I'm sorry, I won't be so dumb again."
Owen took a hesitant step towards Haley, reaching out to grab her hand.
But Haley suddenly shoved him away.
"I said don't touch me!" Haley snapped, knocking over the chocolate strawberry cake on the table.
Everyone in the restaurant was stunned, especially the four kids.
Owen's tears fell one by one, while Angela bit her lip, trying not to cry out loud.
"Go back to your rooms." Ivan placed a hand on Haley's shoulder and said slowly.
"Don't touch me either!" Haley pushed Ivan away, "All of you, get away from me!"
She clutched her head and dashed outside, not caring about anything. Her head hurt so much!
A voice kept echoing in her mind: "Leave them! Leave this place!"
Haley didn't know where she was going; she just ran aimlessly.
The four kids were all terrified.
Ivan's eyes were dark. "Alfred, take the kids upstairs!"
"Yes." Alfred quickly came over and led the kids upstairs.
Todd's eyes were filled with deep thought as he obediently followed Alfred upstairs.
After Todd got to the room, he stood behind the curtain, watching the chaos downstairs.
Ivan was already holding Haley in his arms.
His voice was gentle, yet tinged with a fear he himself hadn't noticed, "Haley, be good, stop this, let's go home. The kids are scared, please stop this. Come home with me."
"Let go of me!" Haley lost it and bit Ivan's shoulder.
She didn't hold back at all, and she tasted blood immediately.
Last time, she bit Ivan's hand, and she came to her senses as soon as it bled.
But this time, no matter how much Ivan bled, her emotions showed no sign of calming down. She bit and struggled.
Ivan stayed silent, letting her vent.
His hand continuously stroked the back of Haley's head and her back, over and over again.
The night was super dark, and Haley and Ivan stood in the yard hugging for a long time before Haley finally calmed down and fell asleep.
Ivan didn't care about the wound on his shoulder, carrying Haley into the villa.
As soon as he reached the second-floor hallway, he ran into Brenda, who had come out after hearing the commotion.
Brenda looked worried. "What happened to Haley? Ivan, why is your shoulder covered in blood?"
"We're fine, Mom. You haven't eaten yet, right? Go have dinner first." Ivan carried Haley into the bedroom and closed the door.
Brenda looked at the closed door and sighed silently. She shouldn't have come downstairs to check on things.
