Chapter 631

Haley took several moments to build up her resolve before angrily chiding, "You reek of Katherine's perfume, and there are lipstick marks on your shirt. If you want to touch me, at least take a shower first."

'So she was still angry.'

The gloom on Martin's face dissipated a bit.

He sniffed the scent on himself, indeed heavy with perfume.

Martin took off his jacket and smirked, "Wait for me, I'll take a shower first."

Haley bent down to pick up the glass shards on the floor. "Take it slow, don't slip in the bathroom again."

"Am I that clumsy?"

Martin chuckled softly and walked into the bathroom.

Haley lowered her head, tears almost falling.

She quickly cleaned up the glass shards on the floor and then brought in a bottle of red wine.

After Martin taking a shower, there were two glasses of red wine on the bedroom table.

"Come have a drink," Haley's lips curved with a hint of a smile. "On the night we got our marriage certificate, we drank like this first, and then..."

Haley lowered her gaze, her cheeks slightly flushed.

Martin sat down as instructed.

It used to be Ivan, and from then on, it would be him.

And all the memories in her mind would eventually be of him alone...

Martin's hand on Haley's shoulder was always caressing.

Haley endured it, playfully saying, "Ivan, do you remember the day we first met?"

Martin grew a bit impatient, drinking most of his wine in one gulp, and mumbled, "Why do you always talk about the past? We should look forward."

"Alright, let's talk about the future." Haley still smiled. "Brenda said she wants another granddaughter, but I feel like we already have four kids at home, I don't want to have more. What do you think?"

"Of course we should have more." Martin's expression brightened. "A few daughters like Angela would make the house even livelier."

"I think having one daughter like Angela is enough," Haley said softly.

"Not enough, definitely not enough."

Martin's other hand also held Haley's shoulder.

No matter how cute Angela was, she wasn't his biological daughter.

Martin longed for light and also longed for children of his own.

His lips drew closer bit by bit.

Haley closed her eyes, looking extremely obedient, silently waiting for the kiss.

She also silently counted down in her mind...

When she reached eight, there was a loud crash, and the man collapsed onto the sofa.

Haley let out a sigh of relief.

She got up, pretending to be worried, "Ivan, Ivan, wake up; what's wrong with you; are you drunk?"

She called out several times in a row, but Martin still remained motionless.

Haley kicked him away with her foot, and Martin rolled onto the carpet unconscious.

She sneered coldly; her eyes filled with indifference.

Haley took out a flashlight from the bedside table drawer, crouched down, and examined Martin's face carefully.

A familiar face, handsome features, with no visible signs of plastic surgery...

Haley felt a bit discouraged. Had she guessed wrong?

Could Ivan really just have a dissociative identity disorder?

Unwilling to give up, she used her phone to take a few close-up photos of Martin's face and uploaded them to a private album before deleting the photos from her phone.
