Chapter 77 The Little Sister Speaks

Just then, the preschool bell rang. School was over. A group of children happily ran out of the school.

Emily raised her finger and sneered, "Your daughter is here, and she looks exactly like you did when you were young." Her tone was as if she had seen Angela numerous times.

"How my two sons died four years ago, I've always kept it, etched deeply, in my heart, one day, I will make you pay for your blood debt," Haley grasped Emily's collar. "If you dare lay a hand on my daughter again, I will scrape the flesh off your body piece by piece!"

The hatred in her eyes was so intense, as if an endless fire burned within. Emily's heart tightened. She forcefully maintained her composure and said, "I am your own sister and also your child's aunt. Why would I harm her?"

She broke free from Haley's grip and took a step back, coldly saying, "Since there's no gift to present this time, I won't greet your daughter. Goodbye!"

She finished speaking and turned to leave. She had come here today with only one purpose, to confirm whether Haley really had a daughter. Since the truth of the matter had already been established, there was nothing more to hold onto. Emily drove away.

If she had been just half a minute later, she would have seen Todd running towards her at high speed. Then she would have discovered that this child also called Haley "mom." She would have also noticed the resemblance between Todd and Keith.

"Mommy, what happened?" Todd anxiously looked at Haley and asked. If there hadn't been so many children, surrounding him and his sister, he would have rushed over to protect mommy.

Haley smiled gently and said, "I bumped into an acquaintance and chatted for a bit. Nothing happened. Come, let's go home."

Todd pursed his lips and couldn't help but speak up, "Mommy, that person just now was Emily, right?"

Haley fell silent. Todd had always been smart. There was truly nothing he couldn't see through.
Holding the hands of her two children, she spoke in a soothing voice.

"No matter what Emily tries to do, mommy will protect you. Don't be afraid."

Todd spoke again, "The car that followed us last time, that was Emily too, right?"

Haley forced a relaxed smile, "Last time was just a misunderstanding... Todd, you're only four years old, you shouldn't worry about adult matters."

Todd, tactfully, didn't say anything more. Since mommy didn't want him to worry, he would obediently listen to her. During the conversation, Angela had showed no reaction. The beautiful little girl leaned against the window; her grape-like eyes fixated on the outside.

This was the entrance of the preschool, with many cars and people around. Haley drove slowly.
Angela's eyes were suddenly drawn to a scene on the roadside. A pet dog had broken free from its leash and was running wild, causing a little girl to cry loudly.

"Don't be scared, my sweetheart. Daddy will protect you..." A man stepped forward and lifted the little girl up. With her arms wrapped around the man's neck, the girl stopped crying and laughed.

"Daddy is my hero. With daddy protecting me, I'm not afraid of anything!" The two of them walked away, laughing. Angela leaned on the window; her eyes filled with a sense of loss.

"Daddy..." She murmured softly. Her voice was very small, barely audible.

"Angela, did you just speak?" Todd had sharp hearing, and he twisted his head a little.
