Chapter 598
Martin suddenly paused, and said, "Be good and go home. I'll be back tonight."
"Great!" Angela wiped away her tears with a smile. "I'll definitely wait patiently for Daddy to come back."
"Kelly, take the four kids home," Martin pinched his brow and instructed in a low voice.
Kelly walked in, smiling gently. "Let me take you all home."
Keith calmly said, "Just take us to the elevator."
Kelly glanced at him a couple of times.
She hadn't seen Keith at the company before. She had always thought he was Ivan's nephew, but it turned out he was Ivan's son.
The resemblance in their features was striking.
Kelly didn’t know until she read the news that Ivan and Haley already had four children.
However, since getting married, Ivan seemed constantly engrossed in work. First, he went on a half-month business trip to Eldoria, which estranged him completely from his family.
Then, Ivan worked day and night at the office for a week.
During that week, Ivan moved all project files and ledgers to the office, clearly intent on pulling all-nighters.
These project ledgers were personally signed and sealed by Ivan, leaving Kelly puzzled as to why he suddenly found them out for reorganization after getting married.
Later, some colleagues speculated that Ivan might be arranging his assets.
After all, dividing assets in a wealthy family with four children had always been a messy affair.
Alfred sat anxiously in the driver's seat, then saw the four children coming out of the Winston Group building. They looked a bit off.
Alfred hurriedly opened the car door and greeted them. "What did Mr. Winston say? Why is Angela crying? Come here, let me give you a hug."
Angela nestled in Alfred's arms, sniffing hard. Her eyes sparkled as she said, "Daddy said he's coming home today."
"That's good news." Alfred sighed in relief and said to the other three kids, "But then, why do you all look so upset?"
The children's faces were dark, with hints of anger in their eyes, especially Todd, who even flashed a hint of hostility between his brows.
"It's nothing." Todd suppressed his emotions, saying lightly, "Alfred, let's go home and share this good news with Mommy."
The phrase "good news" sounded oddly grating to Todd.
Ivan coming home should have been a normal occurrence, but once described as "good news," it seemed somewhat different.
Alfred didn't know what to say. After settling Angela in the back seat and fastening her seatbelt, he returned to the driver's seat.
The car slowly and steadily arrived at the Winston family residence.
Owen opened the car door and looked around for Haley.
"Your mommy suddenly received a call from the office and went for a meeting," Brenda said, smiling. "She'll be back before dinner."
Angela ran out of the car, excitedly exclaiming, "Grandma, Daddy is coming back today."
Brenda was momentarily stunned, then understood. "Did you go to the office to find Daddy?"
Angela nodded vigorously. "Yes, we saw Daddy. He said he's been really busy, but he'll come back to be with us today."
"Well, that's good."
Brenda seemed slightly distracted.
That night, Martin's words were still vivid in her mind. Could the fact that these children came back unscathed from Martin mean that he still had a hint of a conscience?
"He made Angela cry," Todd said calmly. "He wasn't even all that busy. He shouldn't stay away for so long. If we hadn't gone to find him today, he still wouldn't have come home. Grandma, can you tell me why a man who just got married and has four children wouldn't come home for a month?"
