Chapter 414 Gift Giving

Owen recognized the first car. Before it had even come to a complete stop, he dashed over and yanked the rear door open. "Angela, Angela, I missed you so much!"

He expected a warm hug from the soft, fragrant Angela but was met with an annoyed voice instead. "Owen, let go of me!"

He had inadvertently embraced Todd, who was less than pleased.

Quickly releasing his grip, Owen apologized, "Oops, Todd, why is it you? Where's Angela?"

Amidst the commotion, a melodious laughter chimed in the background.

Turning, Owen beheld Angela emerging from the second car, her eyes alight with joy as Keith bestowed upon her a rabbit plush toy, provoking another burst of laughter from her.

Hurriedly, Owen trotted over, clutching a cat plush toy, and eagerly presented it. "Angela, Angela, this kitty is cuter than a rabbit. Look, the cat can meow..."

Squeezing the toy, it emitted a soft meowing sound, eliciting an even louder laughter from Angela.

Stepping down from the car, Ivan observed the scene, a smile playing at the corners of his lips.

The Winstons hadn't heard such infectious laughter in a long while...

Three children... He noticed there was one child short.

Glancing back, Ivan caught Todd's gaze fixed upon the trio, his dark eyes betraying a hint of longing.

"Keith, you brought Angela a gift. Did you prepare something for Todd?" Ivan inquired in a hushed tone.

Keith nodded solemnly, affirming, "Of course, I came prepared."

He was Keith, dedicated to being fair to each of his younger brothers and to Angela.

Handing Angela a rabbit stuffed animal, Keith then retrieved a box from his backpack, approaching Todd with deliberate steps.

"This is for you," he said, unveiling a Rubik's Cube from within the box.

"The most challenging cube available is a 17x17, but I figured you might have already conquered that. So, I had this custom-made—a 33x33 cube, just for you." With a reassuring smile, he passed the cube to Todd. "If you need help solving it, I'm here."

Accepting the Rubik's Cube, Todd toyed with it briefly before expressing his gratitude, "Thanks, I really appreciate it."

Meanwhile, Haley found herself grappling with integrating Todd into the group of children, nursing a headache, when Keith approached her.

With a gentle smile, she encouraged, "Todd, you can call him Keith."

Yet Todd remained reticent, pressing his lips together.

He lacked the emotional connection with Keith or Owen; addressing Keith by name didn't come naturally to him.

"It's alright, Haley. Todd can call me whatever he's comfortable with," Keith reassured, before producing a stack of items from his bag. "Haley, this is for you."

Haley was momentarily taken aback.

She hadn't been expecting a gift to be prepared for her.

She hadn't even finished preparing gifts for the children, and yet here was Keith presenting her with one.

Warmth filled her heart, softening her voice as she queried, "Keith, why did you get me a gift?"

"Haley has one, Angela has one, and Todd has one," Keith stated matter-of-factly. "That's only fair."

"That's hardly fair at all!" Owen protested, joining them with a pout, glaring at Keith with resentment.

His voice tinged with tears, he lamented, "Everyone has a gift except for me, it's so unfair!"

Ivan, too, furrowed his brow in frustration. He found himself without a gift, wondering why no one had considered him.
